Woman Tasered in Front of Daughter After Cutting McDonalds Drive-Thru Line

Employees at the McDonalds in Hope Mills, N.C., refused to serve Evangeline Lucca and told her to go to the back of the line. Lucca, 37, refused to move, and blocked the drive-thru for 20 minutes before police arrived on the scene, authorities said.
When deputies arrived, Lucca was "defiant," "would not get off McDonalds property," and was "threatening the deputies," according to Debbie Tanna, a public information officer for the Cumberland County Sherriff's Office.

"Two or three officers entered the car with her and started trying to forcibly drag her out of the car, and that's when you could hear the clicking sound of the Taser one time," Rich told the Fay Observer. "They pulled on her a couple of times, and then they Tased her again, and when they Tased her the second time, she just flopped out of the car like a fish."

To all those that say to just serve her, then call the police, and let them handle it later...I’m curious....this is private property, so what exactly could the cops do after-the-fact? It’s similar to an accident in a store parking lot. If no one is hurt or no DUI suspected,, the cops usually can’t do anything. It then becomes an insurance battle.
I’d say it was worth waiting just to see the show.
Yeah, it’s the same way here in Texas. I never thought of anyone not stopping to order first. At Braums, if an order is taking a while to fill they send the car forward and out of way so customers behind won’t have to wait. That’s very considerate.
Yes We Can!
I think this was just a bi*** just being a BI***.
I think M’s did the right thing and the cops did the right thing.
They can wrestle with a crazy person just so long.
The people delighting in this story would likely never in a million years engage in the kind of "please taze me" behavior this lady did. I know I wouldn't, so I'm not going to waste too much time trying to relate to her situation.
Not sure what you disagree with.
I guess you feel they should have served her and gotten her out of the way then wait until the next time she cheated the line and then served her again, and again.
The point is she did this regularly, and was getting away with it.
It was my contention that what Anima Mundi suggested would have been better than just letting the line build up. We were thinking of the other people.
It is obvious that if they had just taken this womans tag number and reported her to the police, what would they report? That she had cut the line? There is no law against that, and nothing would have been done. She would have been back again doing the same thing.
I do not believe she will come back now and cut the line any more.I hate line cutters almost as much as I hate people who go to the express checkout with 20 items when 12 is the limit LOL.
“That she had cut the line? There is no law against that, and nothing would have been done. She would have been back again doing the same thing.”
So it’s fine for police officers to use LETHAL force on a citizen, even though you concede that “there is no law against” what she did?
Law, schmaw. We all hate line-cutters.
Thanks for clearing that up.
“Lovin it”
=)
I hate queue jumpers, and tazed twice nice!
LOL!!!
What would you recommend? Punching her in the face instead? Or continuing to ask her to get out of the car for another two hours, and THEN tazing her? It looks like getting tazed allowed the woman to be pulled out the car with less physical damage than if they'd just fought with her the whole time like you'd propose. And yes, the taser is non-lethal.
Just think there is too much reliance of what is a very frightening tool; and it's 'easy use' invites abuse. Believe the power reach of the taser; has become an evil 'genie' in the hands of the 'too willing'. A frightening; almost 'Orwellian' option; that - without user mindfulness - damages the user; as much as it does the recipient.
Will grant that today; the 'power of the uniform' does not nearly engender the same level of respect - or fear - as it once did. And so; things that should be fairly straightforward; no longer are.
Liberalism always ups the ante. . .
I'm a fan of the show and have seen most of them but I've never seen anyone tased yet. have they tased anyone? All I ever get to see is one or two 500 pound gorillas escorting someone out.
I get a kick out of seeing the little squirt Seth acting tough.............as long as he has 3 or 4 of those gorillas behind him.
If anyone wants to see unadulterated "entitlement syndrome", watch that show.
“What would you recommend? Punching her in the face instead?”
Maybe. But only if she took a swing at them or drew a weapon. They’re cops. They’re trained to get a woman out of a car without resorting to lethal force. If they can’t manage that, they should be fired.
The cop who tased her should absolutely be fired, because — one more time — they’re not ALLOWED to use a weapon on her for “failing to comply.” It isn’t a judgement call — they are guilty of assault with a deadly weapon.
And despite your baseless assertion to the contrary, the use of tasers has proven lethal in countless cases across the U.S. If death results even only SOME times, that makes it a lethal weapon.
These cops are two things that should never be allowed in cops: incompetent and sadistic.
“.... she just flopped out of the car like a fish.”
****** NWO ******
She'll just be suing this poor, small-town police department. People far too often don't learn.
