Thanks very much, Kathy.

My daughter joined our adult Chancel Choir when she was in 7th Grade. By then she had already sung for a season with the county's Middle School Honors Chorus. She has a lovely soprano voice and is well-loved by our fellow choristers. She has sung with the choir since 2001, except for the four years she was away at school. She returned this season and it's as though she never left.

I have sung with our choir for over a decade and before that cantored for many years at the 7:30 a.m. Latin Mass at our parish. It has meant a lot to me to have Mary singing with us, and with me, in this choir. We all look forward to her return next September for the new season.

Etiam non princeps sed usque ad genua, Principis Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

The story you told about singing with your daughter in choir reminds me of my sister and me.

Helen was 8 years older than me and she sang in school choirs and later in church choirs.

I followed in her footsteps singing in high school choir at the same high school under a different choir director. Helen relocated to California and was a member of the church choir. Many years later, we moved to California and I joined the church choir and began singing with my sister in the morning worship services as well as a couple of musicals.

Helen passed away in 2000 and is now singing in that great heavenly choir. I’ll join her again in that heavenly choir in the years to come.

Blessings to you, your family and prayers of protection for Mary in her missionary mission.
