I was subjected to the call to prayer for a whole year.
Each time the call ceased, the attacks from the insurgents would start. Rockets, mortars, and drive-by shootings at the checkpoints. They gave rise to the phrase, "When the yodeling stops, the bomb drops".
Neeson should just pay the jizyah and keep his damned mouth shut.
I too heard it when I was in The Kingdom in 1990-1991. Ungodly hours they kept.
Mostly it was taped. However, one time, during a live wailing, the dude succumbed to a coughing fit.
Me and the boys laughed our motha-effing ashes off.
Brings a smile to me it does :)
As far as attacks go, the British were at this FOB first and suffered attacks and overruns until help arrived. The Taliban used to ride around with their AK’s and RPG’s with them.....then the Marines arrived......you hardly see them with even a knife.....and I can't tell you how I know these things.
