I said from the start to watch out, that Trump is not a conservative. I also said, for a while, that at least he was doing a good job bringing the birth issue to people’s attention. But I changed my mind about that, too.
Trump is a crony capitalist, who has made his money on real estate and casinos with the help of crony politicians.
He has mostly donated to Democrats, and a few RINO Republicans with influence.
Why did he raise the birther issue? For two reasons. The lesser one is that he could prepare himself as a possible “conservative” third party candidate, to split the Republican vote for Obama.
The greater one was that the campaign season was about to begin again in earnest (not that Obama ever stopped, from the day of his Inauguration). Obie needed some sort of excuse to bring out a BC at last, and lay the issue to rest.
But why would he do so after refusing to do so for three years? How to account for the change? The Donald gave him that excuse. And it was carefully timed, so that at the height of The Donald’s rants, he could produce the new long-form COLB on the WH website, and then immediately change the subject with the bin Ladin raid. That had been in the work for months, and was carefully timed. He would have saved it for an October surprise, but decided he really needed to put the birther issue to bed, and couldn’t afford to wait.
Never mind that the new COLB is an obvious forgery, and that no one has seen the original copy. The whole show was enough too enable the media to pretty much change the subject. Although it will not go away among those who bother to investigate for themselves and go around the media boycott of real news.
I don’t absolutely KNOW this, of course. But how else to explain what happened? How else to explain why liberal talking heads invited Trump to come on their shows and talk about it? How else to explain that Trump was never really demonized by the DNC or the media for what he did? They can pretend to laugh at him, but they don’t hate him as they would if he had really meant it.
Very interesting. I also noticed that Trump would say the same thing over and over and over no matter how many shows he was on. Nothing was ever new. China is ripping us off, Opec is ripping us off, Obama is not a good cheerleader for our country. He really thought he would be. The roads in China are great. The roads here are not. Does that about sum it up? It was always the same thing.
