I’ve always believed it a waste of time and effort to have hate crimes. Most crime is hate anyway. Assault, arson, murder, rape are all punishable. Why have “Hate Crimes”? So liberals can appear Politically Correct and gain points with minorities for what appears to be selective prosecution.
Hate crimes are instituted by liberals who want to criminalize thought.
Of course, they get to determine what the perpretrator was “thinking” at the time of the “crime”.
It’s another mechanism to control others.
Hate Crimes concept is awful, terrible law.
Creating special classes of people as opposed to all being equal under the law.
Problem is if we are all forced to live currently under awful, terrible law, it needs to be applied equally to everyone. The heinousness of not doing so makes it even more unjust. And erodes further trust, what little is left, in the justice system.
