In the wake of this weeks announcement that Susan G. Komen for the Cure will no longer be awarding grants to Planned Parenthood, the breast cancer organizations donations have gone up 100 percent in the last two days.
On a Thursday conference call Nancy Brinker, the founder and CEO of the Komen Foundation, told reporters that the organization is singularly focused on combating breast cancer, and that the politics of the decision to stop funding Planned Parenthood has been distracting from their mission.
Nevertheless, since cutting ties, Brinker announced that Komens donations have gone up in the last two days by 100 percent.
Our donations are up 100 percent in the past two days. With all of the emotion around these issues which we understand, we get emotional too, we do this every single day of our lives, Brinker said, explaining that they do not make decisions to be popular, they make them to fight cancer.

Hope the ‘Girl Scouts’ are paying attention.
It’s been shown in study after study that conservatives donate more, and more often, than liberals. It stands to reason that adopting conservative positions will result in more donations.
Ditto!
Ditto!
It’s easy to say all ties have been cut.
I knew it was a dirty dog lie that most people in the country favor murdering the unborn. The rise in Komen donations after terminating funding for murdering the unborn proves it.
Ah, the difference between doing good and abetting evil.
I’d like to donate to causes like these. Unfortunately I donate involuntarily every time I get a pay check.
Because I have refused to get involved in things related to Planned Parenthood for over a decade.
That includes the Girl Scouts, and most especially the breast cancer campaigns, seeking support and donated funds.
I have viewed Planned Parenthood as the primary statutory rapist's enabler, and the most hatefull anti-woman agency for years.
Looks like Komen suckered in Pro-Lifers to make donations for abortions.

I know the the freepers community is still processing all this. Here’s what I see - the SGK people are totally focused on preventing breast cancer. If there is a PP facility in a small town where no one else will process requests for mammograms, then SGK would consider a grant from them to do the referrals. What they want however, are people coming forward to get grants to actually buy the machines and provide the service directly. Small hospitals and clinics are going to do that. In my community, there are three places that I know of where I can walk in and get a mammogram for free. That’s compared to 8 years ago when I had to schedule it a month ahead of time and pay for it. I have to think that SGK had something to do with that.
I’m a 3rd time (this year) 3 day walker. I’ve been following this issue since 2008. I’ve prayed a lot about it. The training and the walking have been for me an amazing journey and I’ve met amazing people, both walkers and supporters. Although I hate to see the community in crisis, I’m thrilled with this decision. So here is a shameless shill. If you want to donate, you can go to this website:

Well, in the end it all turned out to be a suckers bet...
Never underestimate the tenacity of a liberal progressive movement, especially the pro-abortion (choice) crowd...
They wield big mojo...
I drive by one of the largest Planned Parenthood facilities in the country every single day...
I don’t see much activity though...They have a lot of Holiday parties for folks like the Harris County Democrat Women’s association there...RSVP for security purposes, and all that...Don’t know what they’d be afraid of...
