1. On the one hand, the consensus on FR in those threads was that Trump’s (seeming) endorsement of Newt was, overall, good. On the other hand, many or even most comments pointed out that Trump is an egotistical gasbag.
2. Sure, now that Trump has switched?? to Mitt, you see a lot of sour grapes comments, but again, the grapes truly ARE partially sour. Trump truly IS a mixed blessing at best. (My comment above is that his greatest assistance to the GOP would be as a hatchet man vs. Obama. Don’t try to sell me on Mitt, please.) Everyone engages in SOME degree of “spin.”
Trump has no influence. It’s amazing that the media sees this as consequential. It’s amazing that Freepers consider this consequential.
This is just publicity for his tv show.
