Say, isnt this starting to resemble a certain reality-game show on television? Or would I be fired for pointing that out? Last night, reports surfaced that casino and real-estate tycoon Donald Trump would endorse Newt Gingrich in Nevada today, just two days before the binding caucuses. This morning, both CNN and ABC say that Trump will now endorse Mitt Romney:
Mitt Romney will receive Donald Trumps presidential endorsement Thursday, sources with knowledge of the endorsement told CNN.
Trump will make the announcement in Las Vegas, two days before the Nevada caucuses.
ABC is a little more specific about its sourcing:
Donald Trump will endorse Mitt Romney in Las Vegas on Thursday, sources familiar with the decision tell ABC News.
A political aide in Trumps office spoke directly with Mitt Romney by phone last night before Trumps private plane took off from New York City to Las Vegas.
The call, sources say, was to inform Romney of Thursdays endorsement, which will take place at a 12:30 p.m. event at the Trump International Hotel on the Las Vegas strip.
A contracting company used by the Romney campaign has been setting up for the event since Wednesday night.

I bet there are some disappointed Trump trumpeters today.
Agreed. - Tom
A new poll by the Cannon Survey Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, found that Romney has the support of 45% of likely Republican caucus-goers, followed by Newt Gingrich with 25%,
The WaPo had to go and spoil things by confirming it. I was enjoying the suspense and distraction from otherwise bleak news that I’ve been reading.
Hand it to Trump, I had a little entertainment from it—before the WaPo spoilers jumped in.
Maybe Newt could tell us some good news on the recent money bomb or some good poll numbers could come out.
Something more than Obama surrenders to Taliban or that Soros the evil is about to collapse us...bah!
I said on another thread that I’d believe Trump would endorse Newt when I saw it.
All of these politicians are playing us for fools. The only hope for this country is a complete system recovery. And that won’t happen as long as the government will hand out money.
Who the heck knows what is going on under that ridiculous hair.

People remember that hair, so he doesn’t upgrade. hehehe
It’s hard to keep up sometimes.
Good for you. I’ve never liked him.

No one does a major system recovery without having a parallel system on-line. I don’t see how it could take place without resulting in a disaster.
Isn’t that how businesses work? Profits come first?
Nothing strange going on here.
The brash, egotistical, publicity seeking populist - who wears a GOP hat because the Dims don’t like him - is supporting the empty suit, “mild mannered” populist who is a registered Republican only because it was a more convenient, more opportunistic thing to do when he started into politics than running as a Democrat would have been.
Which business? The kind where government gets in bed with companies and screws the other guy until he folds or starts to contribute heavily to a certain political party?
Whichever business that puts profits ahead of ethics. I’m sure there’s at least one.
Like Perot before him, he’s got his 20 pieces - Perot got gov’t contracts - what will the Trumpet get?
Is he FINALLY gonna get his New Orleans Tower dream?

You can bet deals are being made with the devil(s)
Perot was the spoiler to ensure Clinton got elected - at less than 50%
And then there’s Santorum - sticking Newt but not Romney (whom he supported in his last run) - what big plum has been dangled in front of him to carry the “spoiler” hat? (Santorum is a big gov’t believer. He knows he won’t be too high on the ladder in a Newt Administration>)
We The People had ALL better get off our duffs and get busy - or say goodbye to life and freedom as we knew it...and explain it to our kids.
There are still freepers that think we have something to say about who is nominated. I am not one of them, haven't been since Reagan made his first attempt to defeat Ford.
Reagan was an anomaly that I hoped that Palin could repeat because of her populist appeal, unfortunately she will support Romney in the end, as all the talking heads have said from the start.
A rich liberal endorsing a rich liberal is a lot more believable than the Gingrich endorsement rumors from yesterday. Either that or he’ll run as a third party spoiler.
YEP Post 77. It was all decided last summer. Newts choking up in a debate in Florida was no accident either. The man has never been at a loss for words or how too say them.
