Remember what I said in the minimum-wage thread about conservatives gradually being forced to play ideological Twister to defend Romney if hes the nominee? Heres Exhibit AAA1.
I dont understand. I dont understand why, if you support one of these candidates, it cant simply be because theyre the best of a bad lot. This happens endlessly in the comments here as Romney fans and Gingrich fans insult each other into digging in ever deeper behind their guy, but I cant fathom why that mindset would affect Coulter. She has a million arguments for Romney over Gingrich or Santorum if she wants them: Hes a better fundraiser and organizer, he polls better against Obama head to head, hes good enough at debates to have thwarted Newt twice in Florida, hes got private sector experience, etc. Theres simply no need to cheer him on for the least conservative thing he ever did in public life. Either shes so sick of people dumping on her for backing Mitt that she decided to write this as a rhetorical middle finger to her critics or shes curious to see just how strong her persuasive powers over the right are. If she can turn them around on RomneyCare, she can turn them around on anything.

Anne you got on the wrong horse this time—Enjoy the ride while its there, but know this—if mittens wins he will drop you so fast your head will spin. Your like the Cherokee who backed the Confederacy—doomed to go down in flaming defeat when the MSM rips the bottom out on the SS Mittens and his Mormon Mafia. We in the Tea Party have long memories-—
Actually, I’m shocked that she thinks she has the influence necessary to promote such a loser as Romney. She has become a bit delusional - maybe too long within the beltway crowd.
I think that she must not have a very high opinion of the effort she put into some of her recent books, to the extent that she was surprised at the great reception these books recieved in the bookstores. The unfortunate lesson she learned from this is, that her fanbase isn’t very bright. Thus, she is emboldened to spout utter garbage like, “ooh, Romney-Care is the greatest thing since slice bread!” and expects her fans to eat it up. Her actions reveal that she is a whore and has no principles.
Man-Up Allah and identify yourself - twithole.
Don’t let the mistakes of Gingrich’s past obscure objectivity. I detect a passion for right governance in him amid all the garbage and clutter of his reputation.
Remember that we are opposing a real threat to the existence of America residing in the White House right now, and the prospect of his RE-ELECTION looms bigger every day.
Grab the strongest nominee that we know as a weapon to defend the United States against the Mexican invasion, the Islamic invasion, the economic disaster brewing and the erosion of our freedom and support him all the way to the Presidency!
I totally agree! Did you read the article saying we should keep Hatch because he is a conservative? Really? We need term limits because of people like him and others who begin to believe they have a right to decide our lives for us. He can be conservative at times, but he’s also known for compromising. We need a continual flow of new blood, no ruling class. Our forefathers did not envision a ruling class.

There must be something REALLY fab about being in Congress. Not being desirous of power over others myself, I suppose I don’t understand that allure.
Of course, having your ass kissed continually by people from every direction, has a certain appeal that is hard for any human being to resist.
The best way to end that potential for abuse, is to wire-in transience for ALL elected offices.
No ancient, business-as usual, aisle-crossing, compromising crows like the useless (and harmful), Hatch who can roost comfortably for decades.
The Twister is because they are all squinting at the debate, not too far in the future.
The first thing out of Brian William’s mouth will be,
“If Obamacare is just a carbon copy of Romneycare, why are you against Obamacare?”
What will follow from there is some maladroit gobbledty-speak about the differences, when all anyone will remember will be the democrat-plants in the audience cheering loudly over his answer.
Everyone ind DC seems petrified of Gingrich, but they know Romney is DOA because of the fact he’s Obama-lite, except on defense, which isn’t the issue this election cycle.
Romney hasn’t said anything specific about what he’d do to get the economy going, so its all sort of academic.
The GOP-E thinks that in the general, it’ll come down to the economy and jobs. If he wins, its going to demoralize voters all the way down the ticket, and we may be lucky to hold on to the House, and not lose ground in the Senate.
In DC, it is ‘anybody but Gingrich’.
