If you thought I implied it, I apologize. That was not my intention. I think I’m fairly clear to most people that getting Obama out is the number one priority, if there’s any hope in turning around America’s future.

What I did say is that I do not believe that Santorum is able to beat Romney, Newt can if the votes are no longer being split between Gingrich and Santorum. Between the two, they have enough votes to beat Romney, but not enough individually.

If Romney gets the nomination, it’s a handoff to Obama.

I'd like to believe it would make a difference, but probably it doesn't. Reelections are probably entirely referendums on the sitting president. U.S. presidents get reelected, unless things are bad enough that they get tossed out of office. Evidence indicates that probably happens no matter who the challenger is. So it's all down to how bad a lot of people perceive it is in November.
