I’ve been a Florida resident for 27 years. Florida was a closed primary. Open only to registered Republicans and Independents. With a deadline for those first registering or changing party affiliation. Yes we have the motor voter law and all you need to show is your drivers license for identification but there is one more step in the voting process before you get to the booths and that is the license data is checked against a voter registration database.

Open to Republicans and Independents only. Does that also mean that Independents get to vote in the Democrat primary?
