RUSH: St. Louis. This is Greg. Great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. God bless you, buddy. Been listening to you for a long time, and, like you, I'm an expert at what I do. I've got a painting company, funny story, I have the ability to listen to you at different job sites, particularly residential job sites, and it's a hoot when I'm at a liberal's house painting with Rush Limbaugh on. It drives 'em crazy.

RUSH: I can imagine that. I've heard such stories, guys on ladders with the radio on where the owner can't get to it. The wife, in particular, just goes batty.

CALLER: Yep.

RUSH: Husbands, too. They can't do anything about it other than fire the painter, which they don't want to do.

CALLER: Right. Yeah. It's hysterical. It's really amusing. It's funny. I can almost tell neighborhood by neighborhood, you know, what kind of clientele I have and whether or not I'm gonna drive 'em crazy.

RUSH: How can you do that? How can you tell by neighborhood what kind of clientele you're gonna have?

CALLER: Yeah, well...

RUSH: Okay, you don't want answer, I caught you. The host caught you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, expert painter knows when he's going to a liberal neighborhood or a conservative neighborhood.

CALLER: You can tell.

RUSH: You can tell. Yep. Whether you got a car on concrete blocks in the front yard or not, I know.

CALLER: Yeah, right, right, especially election time when all the signs get put in the front yard, it's even more of a hoot.

RUSH: Yep.

CALLER: But, hey, the reason why I'm calling, you know, you're the guy that I listen to the most, and you're the guy that I get all my information from. I get why you couldn't endorse someone, but, boy, it sure would be helpful for me and your listeners for you, at the end of the day, say, "Here's the guy," because you're the expert, man. You know who's full of it, and you know who's legitimate, and it would be awesome if you would just, you know, come out and say, this is --
RUSH: Ah, see, wait a minute. You say you understand why I don't endorse. In fact, you said you understand why I can't endorse. And then you very sneakily and slyly try get me to endorse. If I tell you who I'm voting for, that's an endorsement. You're trying to tell me I can do that without actually endorsing anybody. Snerdley, I'm gonna tell you something. 'Cause Snerdley's behind this, folks. If I don't shut this down every call is gonna be somebody demanding or trying to pressure me. Snerdley is sitting in there thinking that I can change the outcome of elections if I would just say so. He really believes that.

You and I both know that's absurd, but he believes it. I'm just telling you, you could give me two more hours of this, I'm not gonna tell you. It isn't going to happen, because when this is all over, I am not gonna be in a position where my credibility is such that I can't support whoever the nominee is. 'Cause I am not voting Obama. I'm not supporting Obama. So whoever wins this, I can't sit here and pigeonhole myself in such a way that I don't have credibility supporting whoever the eventual nominee is, because Obama is the end result. I'll tell you right now, I'm not voting Obama. I'm the expert. And that's really all you need to know.

I am concentrating on issues, on what America needs, and who, if anyone, is offering solutions.

You are familiar with Newt's 'American Solutions'; Right?

(Newt invited - brought together - experts in Energy/Health Care/Business/Tax experts ET AL and and with them; invited for dialogue/education and input: good citizens, across our Country; so as to help find solutions to the many problems we face as a nation; as well as to educate people how to get involved/engaged so as to effect positive change in our Government.)

from wikipedia:

excerpt:

American Solutions for Winning the Future (often referred to as American Solutions) was a 527 organization created by former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newt Gingrich for the stated purpose of engaging citizens and elected officials in a dialogue intended to propose solutions to problems affecting American society. It first received national attention for its 2008 effort, "Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less", focused on the issue of offshore drilling. It has also focused on the U.S. unemployment rate and issue of job creation. The organization closed in July, 2011.[1]

The organization described itself as "tripartisan" and placed an emphasis on addressing the "growing gap between a world that works (mostly but not completely private sector) and a world that fails (mostly but not completely government bureaucracies)" and remaking government to reflect the "habits, patterns, investments, and systems of productivity that characterize much of the modern world outside bureaucracy."[2]

American Solutions was one of the nation's largest grassroots organizations with more than 1.5 million members and more than 200,000 donations from individuals and organizations. The group also employed more than 20 staff members.[3]

American Solutions founder Newt Gingrich speaking at the April 15, 2009 New York City Tea Party. . .

American Solutions was officially launched with an opening presentation on September 27, 2007 before a standing-room only crowd at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta, Georgia, which featured then-Governor Sonny Purdue.[4] On September 29, 2007, American Solutions held its first "Solutions Day" with more than 2,000 workshops across the United States, designed to help volunteers learn how to get involved with government activism at the state, federal and local level. American Solutions' broad goals include transforming government "from bloated bureaucracy to lean machine."[5]

"Drill Here. Drill Now." is an American political slogan coined on May 20, 2008 by former speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich and the organization to advocate for increased use of America's domestic energy resources to help lower the cost of oil.

Gingrich's 2008 book Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less: A Handbook for Slashing Gas Prices and Solving Our Energy Crisis.[8]

[edit]Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less . . . A petition aimed to convince Congress that Americans, including representatives from both major parties as well as Independents, want them to open oil drilling in Alaska's Wildlife Reserve and off the Atlantic, Pacific and Florida Gulf coasts, and to extract shale oil from the Rocky Mountains, in order to make the country independent from foreign oil. As of 20 August 2008 over 1,450,000 citizens had signed.[9][unreliable source?] South Carolina Republican Party chairman Katon Dawson was the first state party chair to endorse the campaign.[10] On September 27, 2008 Congress voted to lift the ban on offshore drilling.[9] .

[edit]Jobs Here. Jobs Now. Jobs First

In August 2009, American Solutions launched the "Jobs Here. Jobs Now. Jobs First" campaign, also known as the "Real Jobs Tour", to combat unemployment levels, then approaching 10 percent across the United States.[11] The plan outlined five major tax cuts to boost the American economy, including a two-year, 50 percent reduction in payroll taxes; a 100 percent annual write-off for small businesses' new equipment purchases; adoption of the Irish corporate tax rate of 12.5 percent; and the abolishment of the estate tax and capital gains tax.[12][13]

[edit]No More Obamacare

On January 6, 2011, American Solutions launched NoMoreObamacare.com, a website encouraging congressional Republican lawmakers to defund and repeal the federal health care legislation passed in 2010. The site included a petition calling for the bill’s repeal as well as tools for activists.[14] As of January 19, 2011, the petition had gathered more than 100,000 signatures.[15

American Solutions - Newt Gingrich for President: Jobs and the Economy America only works when Americans are working. Newt has a pro-growth strategy similar to the proven policies used when he was ...Edit/End

*************

And Mitt has done what; and has what solutions in mind for America? He has yet to articulate any; save in the most veiled/vague of terms. Truth is; he has few solutions/answers. Newt has been on the 'case' for years.

You have only to read, Newt's bio at wikipedia; the books authored; his projects; including 'Solutions'; to see that this man has a 'scope' of vision; that NO other candidate has. Newt has solutions; and lays them out at his Newt.org site. He has spoken of them; often; albeit; hard to 'get there' in debates designed to NOT take you there.

Evasive is doing everything you can to avoid simply telling us,

You're freaking nuts, I told you who I supported...Duncan Hunter....CAN YOU READ?

Check my posting history.

You never at any time supported Romney, over anyone else in the 2008 primary?

Let me make this perfectly clear, not that it will matter to you....

NO!

If you have some evidence to the contrary, put up or shut the hell up.

Good, you gave the impression that after Hunter pulled out that you had supported Romney over McCain or Huckabee at some point.

Finally, you have said firmly, that you did not.

I am confused why you keep throwing Hunter in there though, when the question has always been if you ever supported Romney in 2008, Hunter left early, did you go to McCain then, or was Huckabee your man?

You are relentlessly 1. DENSE?/ 2. STUBBORN/STUPID?/ 3. LAZY? - too lazy to actually read the responses/ 4. MAYBE on DRUGS?/Smokin? 5. OCD? - or just stuck in some alternate reality - and without a key? What?. . .

Clearly; you do not realize that it is YOU; that has a Romney fixation; and more; a Mormon fixation;. . .and seems; that only by agreeing with your positions on the evils of Mormonism and it's threat to America (being worse, say than the Marxist agenda; or radical Islamic (may be an oxymoron here. . .)agenda; can one be on the 'anti-Romney team or rather, Ansell2's anti-Romney team. As if your version has the only legitimacy.

(Hey, Ansell2; you do NOT make the rules! Anti-Romney is NOT your exclusive club! And pathetically arrogant of you to make 'wrong/errant/false' assumptions; while taking pride, for imagining yourself 'dead on' in your conclusions and ascriptions and accusations - all to say; your pathetically 'wrong' conclusions.

The only other rationale for your seemingly 'block-headed' analysis; is the Levin-favorite, call out. And you just MAY be; a 'moron'. If not; then please; stop acting like one.

It is clear whom I support and defend; and have hundreds of posts; doing just that. I also, put my money where my mouth is when it comes to supporting Newt. Beyond that; you can pound sand however you want to. You will still have sand.

Freerepublic has a fixation on stopping Mitt Romney, that is why so many of his defenders have been purged, me taking on a man who should not even be in the GOP is wholesome, and helpful.

Defending and promoting Romney here is disgusting and wrong.

You can lay off the pro-Romney stuff, or can you?

Cricket, I am a geologist in the oil patch, and we've been saying "Drill here, drill now" since long before Newt jumped on the bandwagon. We were saying it when multimillion dollar rigs were sold for as little as $5,000 for scrap in the 80s, when drilling was in the doldrums in most of the '90s (even though horizontal drilling was being developed in those days--I worked my first horizontal well in 1990), and even when we started punching laterals in the Bakken over in the Elm Coulee Field in Montana in 1999 and 2000, we were advocating producing our own--not to mention the pipeline capacity to move it.

It's nice to have a presidential candidate on the bandwagon for a change, but right now, especially, it is patently obvious to anyone who looks at the economic devastation of policy changes after the Deepwater Horizon blowout, or who looks at the relative prosperity of States like North Dakota or Texas or parts of Pennsylvania that our resources, our skill in extracting them, and our industry are the bootstraps which will restore prosperity to this country, not ridiculous trade policies, environmental regulatory insanity, and not 'green' energy.

It doesn't hurt that Anthropogenic Global Warming has been exposed for the hoax it is, and the ferreting out of ulterior motives would peel the scabs off the festering corruption involved in trying to regulate and capitalize on regulations imposed because of the fraud.

But no matter how much you pour into the bucket, it'll never fill if the bottom is rotted out, and that's what we're dealing with.

Our Federal Government has spent over a trillion more dollars than we have every eight months in this administration on questionable programs, shaky 'investments', and likely lining the pockets of those in charge while breaking our laws wholesale.

We have whole Departments of the Federal Government which exist without Constitutional Authority, and the only way to cut spending is to cut--not play games with reductions in the rate of increase (democrat math) which claims that increasing the budget by only 5% instead of 10% is slashing the budget.

We're still headed in the wrong direction. Power is still being consolidated in DC, and our liberties disappear daily.

That has to stop, or there won't be any future to win. (And who came up with the "Winning the Future" phrase? WTF?)

Pathetic, he can’t even tell us who he voted for in the primary. I can’t listen to Rush anymore and I was a loyal listener for over 20 years. I gradiated to Mark Levin almost 2 years ago now. He is The Great One.

We have two competitive candidates. Cannot recall Mitt discussing Obama's determined effort to kill America's 'will to oil'/natural gas or nuclear energy for that matter. Newt defends the above; and promises to dismantle the obstructions. Newt has offered time and time again; that 'developmental' energies/experimental be financed by private investment - not taxpayers - and that Washington Government/Leftist Government/Obama,Inc. must get out of the way of our 'future' and stop their damaging our national security through their destructive energy policies. He is entirely supportive of our mining/drilling our own resources. And is mindful what China is doing; as we sleep on this.

Newt has stated that he will take Washington out of the way; so that we can move forward/now.

Have not seen Mitt go there; but who knows; maybe he has - on occasion - or will; but think he waits for 'another voice' to speak; before he opines or takes a 'leadership' position. So who knows; what really will be his solutions.

None of these candidates perfect; for those who can name one; even in history; please do. We have critical choices, meantime.

It is clear where I stand; not only by posts to you; but others here; with who you have similar problems per rational discussion.

Suggest you read on. . .OTOH; why bother; little to discuss; given it is only your voice you hear; and you have clearly anointed yourself; as the only legitimate critic of Mitt.

'That said'. . .you are absolutely right on per your analysis and worth repeating:

/Our Federal Government has spent over a trillion more dollars than we have every eight months in this administration on questionable programs, shaky 'investments', and likely lining the pockets of those in charge while breaking our laws wholesale.

We have whole Departments of the Federal Government which exist without Constitutional Authority. . .
