I’d love to see Newt pull out a win in FL if only by 1 percent.

Heck, I wouldn’t care if it were just by 8 votes . . . Go NEWT!!! (or however many the number was in IA, now that would be just delicious).

It’s winner-take-all...winning by 1 vote is equal to winning by 1 million votes. And so is losing. This contest is enormous. I would say that Newt winning it would make him extremely likely to be the nominee. If Mitt wins it, it gives Newt an enormous uphill battle ahead, and makes Mitt somewhat likely to be the nominee. Newt’s ace-in-the-hole if he loses tomorrow is if Santorum drops out. If Santorum exits, Newt would probably become the frontrunner again. If not, then all the odds are on Mitt. You could read it on Karl Rove’s face tonight...he severely dodged Greta’s question of whether Santorum getting out would help Newt. Brit Hume on O’Reilly was pushing hardcore for “all the candidates” to stay in the race because “you never know what could happen.” Translation: “If Rick stays in, we pretty much know Mitt will win it.”
