Dearest Lord, hear our prayer.
You have promised us that “lo, I will be with you always, even until the end of the world” so abide with us as the darkness deepens, for your presence is needed to comfort us tonight. We look forward to the dawning of a new day and we pray for your blessing and ask you to shine the light of your favor upon us as we battle on in the fight to save our nation. Today was not the end, but yet another beginning and only with your help can the evil that besets us in this most desperate fight be foiled. We love you, we praise you and we thank you for your most precious gift, Jesus Christ, your son, our Lord and in his name we pray. Amen.
