During his Google+ hangout Pres. Obama tells a woman that her husband shouldn't be unemployed from the growth he has seen in the economy. Obama said he finds it "interesting" because he is getting "the word" that someone in her husband's job field "should be able to find something right away."
Obama offered to do something if she would just send him her husband's resume.
The woman wants to know why Obama is extending visas for foreigners when there is tons of demand for American jobs by Americans.
"I don't know what your husband's speciality [is], but I can tell you that there is a huge demand around the country for engineers," Obama told the woman.
"I understand that," she responded. "But how am -- given the list that you're getting, I mean we're not getting that. You said in the State of the Union address for business leaders to ask what can they do to bring jobs back to America
During the back and forth between Obama and the wife of an unemployed engineer, Obama asked for his resume.
"Can I ask you what kind of engineer your husband is?," Obama said to the wife of the unemployed engineer.
"He's a semiconductor engineer," she responded.
"It is interesting to me -- and I meant what I said if your send me your husband's resume, I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening right there because the word that we're getting is that somebody in that type of high-tech field, that kind of engineer, should be able to find something right away.

Nifty!
So, like, if everyone who is unemployed, like, sends Barry their resumes he'll, like, take care of it?...Neat-o
Everyone who is unemployed should send their resume to the White house - a sort of BarryList.com (like Craig!) - he is a job-creator after all, isn't he?
/Huge obvious sarc (but it would be cathartic for all of the unemployed to send him their resumes - now -wouldn't it? */evil snicker*)
INTERESTING!

I can’t decide whether Obama is more clueless, arrogant, or simply incompetent.
Of course, the three are not mutually-exclusive...
No disrespect intended, but have you ever interviewed a candidate for a position? A degree is not even close to being the most important aspect for the "winning" candidate. Everyone has a degree interviewing for his job. The guy might be an obnoxious a** h*le. Once I saw Kennedy campaign worker on a resume. There are lots of ways to blow a great opportunity.
Captain Whistle basically called her husband a no talent bum.
It’s “interesting” he can’t find a job in this booming economy. He must be a real sad sack.
Yes, there may be something dark in this guy’s history, but even with that he should be able to find a job in his field or get in some other line of work.
And yes, I interview people quite frequently and it is difficult to find qualified people who are willing to travel for work.
Besides being qualified, the one reason I was offered my job was that I told them I would go any place on the planet to work.
Well, he had better be willing to work. Moving out all of that expensive repossessed furniture is a daunting task.
If you would go anywhere, that is a huge signal to a company. Good for you. Maybe this guy wants 2 twenty minute breaks per hour, a company car, and unlimited sick days. And 125K for his entry position. Who knows, but he might be the future cabbie or waiter in Boston. (if he has a doctorate)
Agh! I absolutely detest this bozo! On the brighter side, he’s ruining himself in the polls! YAY!!
3:08 the person asked "I work 40hrs a week and there is one problem, I barely makes ends meet.... Question, do you support a living wage". 5:24 into the video Obama said "I am a strong believer in the minimum wage".
Mr President there is a huge difference between living wage and minimum wage.
C'mon, 1.7%? Even Jimmy Carter did better than that...
That stimulus and investment in green tech is really paying off. All hail Obama.
Can't wait to hear the excuses -- oil spills, volcanoes, earthquakes, headwinds, etc...
The real GDP is more than likely, negative.
Countdown until Zer0 leaves Office: 355 days as of January 31, 2012.
"He's a semiconductor engineer," she responded.
Semiconductor Engineer eh....?....
So he must know about hazardous materials.....
Get a CDL with HAZMAT endorsement and head for the shale oil fields....

Driving a truck, 12 hour days, 2 weeks on, 2 off at $30/hour is $60,400. And perhaps the MOST important thing - they have a trailer to live in! (At no charge it seems?) Now if they through in meals at the rigs, that is REALLY a great deal.
My brother was saying the trouble is that guys see this kind of money and after the first or second pay check are either too drunk, or head back home.
For someone young and single and level-headed, they could turn it to some real good.
