OK. I confess. This household is fluent in German. So, continuing would have been unfair. Buena Suerte!
There was a time when I would have been able to keep up with you. When I was a kid, my dad was stationed in Germany and we lived on the German economy, not on a military base (long story!). So, learning/speaking German was kind of essential to surviving life in a foreign country.
I didn't ask, are you German? I loved it there. We were outside Frankfurt in a town called Bad Hamburg, but travelled throughout most of Germany and western Europe. It was a great time!
As you might imagine, I have spoken little German since that time and have never had an opportunity to return. I probably wouldn't today, anyway, because I would be very disappointed looking for the Germany I lived in a long time go and wouldn't recognize unified Germany today.
