Astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, Bob Crippen, the first space shuttle pilot, and former NASA administrator Mike Griffin are among the eight space leaders who endorsed Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Friday, Space.com reported.
The men signed an open letter that explained why Romney is the candidate they most trust to rebuild the U.S. space program.
"Restoring the U.S. space program to greatness will require the leadership, management skill, and commitment to American exceptionalism possessed by only one candidate in this race: Mitt Romney," the letter said, according to Space.com. "We support Mitt's candidacy and believe that his approach to space policy will produce results instead of empty promises."

Your arguments are weak at best (i.e. "it's the best that I think we'll get"). How inspiring!!
You're okay with the gay agenda and that means we have nothing in common.
Moderates are a joke. Seriously, when you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything!
It’s not “my way”, it’s the conservative way or the way of no principles. You might be happy with a guy who stands for nothing, but as you can see, most conservatives are not. You might be willing to deceive yourself and us about Romney’s character, but we’re seeing it loud and clear, and we’re not going to agree to some stupid, brainless pledge to support a traitor to the country.
I am an Anybody But Obama Voter, but Willard is testing my patience. Even with the crap his Campaign is doing, I still believe that nobody can be as bad as Obama.
Four more years of Obama scares the living s@!t out of me. If he gets back in the SCOTUS, and therefore the Country, is lost for generations. We can't let that happen.
Not if its Romney. NO way.
“However, I vowed to vote for the Republican we put up against Obama. Will you? “
Yes. Except Romney of course.
I am psychic enough to know that anybody who has operated the way Romney has, has forfeited my vote already.
My vote will go to the most moral, limited government candidate on the ballot. Or perhaps I will write in a candidate. That remains to be seen. However, I would no more vote for Romney than I would vote for Obama. Either one might win, but neither will get close to a "mandate from the voters" vote as long as people like me still vote, but put our votes elsewhere so the numbers show that whoever wins, won by very weak support, hence the majority of Americans opposed them.
NO
Well, not trying to inspire you. Not my bag. I also don’t look to Romney for inspiration - he’s my guy but my lowered expectations guy.
Good to know that unless someone walks lockstep with your opinions that there’s no common ground. Do you ever consider that there’s a direct correlation between how narrowly you define common cause and the fact that you feel like you’re getting the brown end of the stick?
“Its not my way, its the conservative way or the way of no principles. You might be happy with a guy who stands for nothing, but as you can see, most conservatives are not. You might be willing to deceive yourself and us about Romneys character, but were seeing it loud and clear, and were not going to agree to some stupid, brainless pledge to support a traitor to the country.”
You must have a frog in your pocket. I shouldn’t even dignify your childish comments with a response. I don’t know who you think you are but since you have all the answers and they all seem to be, “Don’t vote if,” I have to wonder what country you work for. You don’t know me and I don’t know you but every male member of my family has served this country admirably, passionately, loyally, and with distinct honor. No one ever said, “Hell no, I won’t go because” I’m accustomed to courage in decision-making. There is no way on earth anyone, be he a Mormon or a Moron or both, will deny me my right to vote to help defeat Barack Obama. And, once we have a nominee, I’ll work as hard as I can to see that happen. It’s far more important Conservatives elect Conservatives to the House and Senate and to state elective offices. Obviously, you’ll only help if.
I think I’ve just met the last stupid straw.
Mitt is a total power hungry slim bag. Nothing on this Earth will ever get me to cast a vote for the lying, evil man. There is nothing truthful about Mitt or his Statist supporters
In fact, it's supporters such as you that almost make me say what I would NEVER say -- I would be tempted to vote for the Marxist just to drive a state in the Statists that infest the GOP.
I pray everyday that enough citizens awaken and turn against the fraud that is Mitt.
Mitt would do absolutely nothing to turn our Republic towards Liberty. He would be a placeholder until the next Marxist takes power.
Mitt only wants the office to feed his own narcissistic ego. Mitt has absolutely no concern for or belief in limited government or our beloved Constitution.
If Mitt had an honest bone in his body he would have run as a RAT -- the party of his core beliefs. Everything about Mitt is a fraud.
Yes well - good luck with that. Best of luck in supporting Newt.
Well considering the Heritage Foundation went back to the original work they did and rechecked it, they realized they did get it wrong and so they withdrew their support. Perhaps you didn't know that but that happened quite awhile ago so I am a bit surprised since that was also talked about here at Free Republic.
You aren’t serving your country well in supporting a vicious liar like Romney. What did you think the reaction would be on this forum when you came on here asking us to make a stupid, unthinking pledge to support this loser, when every other thread in this joint is talking about his deception, slimeball tactics, and dishonorable behavior? Did you really think we’d watch all that is going on, and then just forget about it, due to some feel-good, touchy feely post?
If that was your “last straw”, you really didn’t think this through very well. If that’s the case, maybe you should rethink your conclusions on Romney too.
I’m aware, it’s why I used the past tense. The point being, it was a common error. What’s the criteria for holding Romney accountable but not Newt or Heritage? Because he was in the position to implement the common conservative wisdom of the day? I guess so but I don’t think there’s a big distinction between Newt and Romney on this since they BOTH supported it with Heritage backing. It was a mistake. Reagan being a Dem was a mistake. It happens.
“You arent serving your country well in supporting a vicious liar like Romney. What did you think the reaction would be on this forum when you came on here asking us to make a stupid, unthinking pledge to support this loser,”
Sheesh. You need to get a grown-up grip. You obviously can’t read either. I’m not supporting Romney. I was supporting Perry. Perry asked his supporters to vote for Gingrich. I will. Romney is not the point. The point is the vote and the right to vote and the desire to vote. The vote was given to you and you don’t know how to honor it and make it work for our country. You vote and make the person accountable to you with the help of God and patriots. You vote and get the Senate back and make the president answer to the Congress. You don’t give up your vote because you don’t like the person running. But, you? You stamp your feet and whine. Ribbet. Ribbit. You say “we” this and “we” that. You throw words out there like “loser” and “slimeball” and “dishonorable” and “deception”, and “unthinking”.” That’s just one post. Silly. Baby stuff. You don’t deserve the gift given you if you can’t think things through. You just react. Show me the so-called “touchy-feely” post I made. I said I was voting for Gingrich in my primary. I said if he doesn’t make it, will everyone support the Republican nominee for the sake of the Republican Party? We need to take the party where we want it to go but we need to be in power to get there. Have a miserable day. You seem to love it.
I forgot to mention: Nov 18, 2011
>In a speech in Cape Canaveral, Fla., on Friday, Romney said he doesnt currently have a grand vision for the U.S. space program, the Washington Post reported. However, he said, if elected, he would bring together the nations top experts in government and the private sector to decide what its mission should be.
Or doesn’t dare articulate it.<
I wonder if he thinks a space mission isn’t needed? After all, doesn’t he think he’s going to some planet he’ll rule over in the afterlife? Who needs a rocket with that mindset?
Either way...Get ready for 4 more frappin’ years of Obama...
Thanks to the Republican party leadership, and the other feckless liberal/moderate wonders who hide in this party...Y’all been screwing the pooch since 2006, so why hide anymore???
I wasn’t impressed at all by any of the candidates this time...
I hope everyone is working to get out of debt, buy gold, buy ammo, and have a plan in place for the total collapse, that I honestly hope doesn’t happen...
I hope to be proven wrong...
Bingo!!!
You and I are on the same page!!!
That’s two...I wonder who else will jump onboard...
