Romney would be mercilessly hammered by the MSM re: being a racist 31 yo giving $ to one of the largest racist organizations in the world.
Hint: If the MSM made such a big deal about a rock on hunting grounds belonging to the Perry family, what about Romney giving 10% of his income for his first 13 years of his adult life to one of the largest worldwide racist orgs?
Between that and his other crazy beliefs (believing he can become a god and rule his own planet; magic underwear; baptizing dead people, etc) the MSM would make sure any last hope or vestige of him being a "viable" candidate would turn out to nothingness. He wouldn't even break 30% no matter what.
So, what's the difference if Romney loses 46-29% Or 46-22%
If you lose a football game 46-29 instead of 46-22 so what? You were never a viable competitor to begin with. Discounting caucuses, Romney is 0-for-17 on races outside his "home turf" of New England, Michigan (where he grew up), and Mormon Utah.
Therefore voting for Obama lite (Romney) if he won the GOP nomination would be...
...voting for an 0 bama (small "zero")
...wasting your vote
...searing your conscience
...digging the grave of the GOP -- the potential new Whigs
Why would any true GOP voter want to do that?
(Because they are short-sighted...and can't see that they would allowing the entire conservative ship to go down for good with "Captain Romney" at the helm...all because they delusionally fantasize that a Romney-with-a-racist past could somehow beat Obama with the MSM making the whole thing into a referendum on racism!)

Just a quick eye-opener for what's-to-come in throut '12 if Romney gets the nomination.
So the way I read it, you prefer Obama because by voting third party, that’s what you will get.
Just to set you straight, I do not necessarily believe that Romney can beat Obama, nor did I say that he could.
As to what a “real” conservative would do, I’ll put my conservative creds up against anybody on this forum. And I refuse to lose sight of what should be everybody’s goal, which is to take Obama out. Period. And if the best I can get is with Romney then great. I’ll take it. I’m less afraid of Mormonism than I am Obama.
