OK but explain how and why Gingrich and Santorum can’t make a deal.

Or why a rather big part of “conservatives” are still envisaging to vote Santorum when N.Gingrich is ahead against Romney....

It’s not to late

"OK but explain how and why Gingrich and Santorum can’t make a deal."

Easy. Santorum is in it for Ricky. Either hubris in thinking he'll win ANYTHING from here out (if not hubris, then psychotic delusion) or he is being influenced to continue this split in the conservative.

There are about 10% of GOP primary voters, due to Newt's past indiscretions, who will not vote for Newt as long as Santorum is running. They would split evenly between Newt and Romney in Santorum's absence except Romney has supported abortion in the past and they know he can't be trusted.

This 10% or so is the Life Voter, first and foremost. This 10% would go overwhelmingly to Newt if Santorum drops out.

Rick Santorum knows all of the above to be true, or as I said earlier he has psychotic delusions and is otherwise unfit for office.

I only want to learn his motive. I suspect if Romney gets the nod, we'll see that motive very quickly.
