Too true.

If you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem.

I think it’s apparent to all but the most partisan hacks that Washington DC isn’t working in the best interests of the country; rather, the leaders and legislators are working for their own best interest, whether feathering their nests with ill gotten gain or working to remain in power, that is, win the next election.

So, we have to take them on in two ways:

1. Tighten up the laws that lets them make money off of insider trading, for example, and among other things, just whack them over making money beyond their salaries when it’s clear the gain was because they have the elected/appointed power.

2. Term limits.

Everyone opposed is exposed as a establishment hack.

Panel on This’ Weak is pretty good, including Laura Ingraham, discussing Romney smearing Newt and his inability to deal with it.

I agree with you on politics being all about money and power but I’m not convinced on term limits

I would hate to see Paul Ryan not being able to run and lead the House Budget Committee, or a Marco Rubio not in the Senate holding those jerks feet to the fire.

What we really need is more secretaries of state who will insure honest elections and state legislatures that will reverse the gerrymandering that’s gone on so long. We also need more conservative parents running for school boards to counter the liberal unions and demand an end to children’s brainwashing.

Term limits are NOT the answer. Just look at California. Voters enacted term limits there 20 years ago. The result? The institutions have no memory so issues that were discussed must start over, bad ideas get recycled. The pawn and proxy politicians come and go while bureaucrats and lobbyists stay forever and do “the real work.”
