That falls under the same setting. Do not doubt civilian counterparts can be just as destructive. Look at the vile career of Janet Reno as an example.

I am amazed that anyone is willing to serve this corrupt government however. No nation will survive when it grinds down its own defenders. Alter or abolish the pustule on the Potomac!

As we all know, up until that fateful day in Haditha, SSgt. Wuterich's training and experience was based on Fallouja and the actions the Marines had to take in similar conditions, especially in clearing houses. The Nazario Trial (in civilian court) brought out the fact that "Marine brass changed the 'Rules of Engagement' in mid-battle" to counteract the insurgents tactics in November 2004. Five months later those rules were embedded in the Marines DNA, it doesn't just get switched off without a command decision. Every one of these Marines - from LCol. Chessani on down had their war-fighting skills honed by Falluoja, and thus under like conditions in Haditha used those skills to devastating effect. This was a kill or be killed scenario, which is why the utterance of SSgt. Wuterich was to save lives, not take them.

It brought out the FACT that the ROE was changed, especially those pertaining to houses declared 'hostile'. Lt. Kallop testified he did that in ordering the team to respond. That ROE was not changed until AFTER Haditha, as a tesult of the propaganda coupe wielded by McGirk and his enablers.

I too wish SSgt. Wuterich had not taken the plea, but then I am not in his shoes or consider it a fault on his part. I do know I will no longer counsel anyone to join our military, as there is no longer any guarantee of the governments claims and promises. Sad.
