Not too many months ago, likely voters trusted Republicans over Democrats on all ten top issues. It was probably too much to expect those heady days to continue, and I suspect that the GOP presidential primary season has damaged the partys standing. That is unfortunate: if the Republican candidates had devoted their energies to non-stop attacks on President Obama, the result would have been positive. Unfortunately, that didnt happen, and the bashing of fellow Republicans that we have seen over the last couple of months has no doubt damaged the partys brand.
If all the RINOs had stayed out of the race there'd been Gingrich, Santorum and Cain, and it'd been a very polite and intellectually stimulating debate.
I hold the FAUX Republicans, especially the rich guy, totally responsible for the disruptions. They should have never been allowed to enter the race ~ and it's the RNC Chairman Priebus FAULT they got in!
We should be getting four parallel critiques of Obamaism and four parallel explanations of the freedom philosophy. Instead, these guys have been suckered into tearing into each other.
Actually, Gingrich did really well for a long time, he kept his focus on Obama and avoided personalizing his rivalry with his fellow Repubs. You’ll remember he said over and over, any one of us will be a better president than Barack Obama. It is Romney that has waged a scorched earth campaign. The Romniacs don’t care if they burn the whole party to the ground as long as they rule the ashes.
The negativity absolutely started with Romney, especially when Newt emerged just before Iowa up 9+ points. He can’t win over the conservative base, so he feels like he has to destroy each leading conservative.
You see, it’s HIS nomination, and he will by damn get it, even if it means burning the most important bridges we have on our side. Stupid move.
Is Bachman a RINO? Honestly curious; been running accross vague innuendoes.
You no doubt remember Gingrich’s private debate with Cain. It was a very interesting exchange, with each candidate building on the other’s ideas.
He held a similar private “debate” with Huntsman. Huntsman was probably my least favorite out of all the candidates... and yet, engaged in an extended discussion with Gingrich, he came off very well indeed. Again, a very interesting discussion, that explored the issues in depth. With Gingrich guiding the conversation, even the insufferable Huntsman did well. Gingrich has a way of elevating whatever discussion he is in.
The usual media debate “moderators” spend their every effort trying to get the candidates to attack one another, and Romney has his proxies out doing with a vengeance around the clock seven days a week.
I won't give a link to the physicians at Powerline because I don't want to give them the hits. But they need to heal themselves before they complain about other Republicans going Roman on each other.
This is Romney’s doing! Newt refused to attack his fellow Republicans and then Romney unleashed his smear machine on Newt in Iowa! Newt even scolded the moderators in the debates for baiting them into attacking each other!
Hardly. I like her.
When Obama came into office, she was one of the few to stand up and throw a wrench into the works to try and stop him as he bulldozed his way across a rather supine congress.
From my memory, the people on the front lines at the very beginning were Bachmann in congress, DeMint in the senate, Palin from outside. Gingrich started making the rounds, too, making speeches where ever he could find someone to listen to him.
Romney? Romney was very quiet during those early fights. In fact, Romney couldn't be roused to come out and fight except to go after Palin, and the tea party. And, now, Gingrich.
Point.

Add Perry to the ????
Bachmann is wonderful and a strict constitutionalist if there ever was one. A patriot to boot. She lost me in her attacks on Perry, when I favored her over Perry.
Cain is good but I lost respect for him, before all the screeching ninnies. He turned into a salesman, not a statesman. Talked nasty on Perry without good reason, in my opinion.
Perry earned my respect (thought him a stinkin’ globalist prior) and now I see him as a man of the finest character. He stepped out of the race but still won. I didn’t respect him before and now I respect him more than just about any living person. He is a FINE man.
If I am honest, I know truly that Perry is too kind and clean to handle the DC thugs. Gingrich can do this job.
I trust God, I trust my husband, son and mother. Outside of that—I trust Gingrich to run this country. If Perry thinks Gingrich is good enough, I believe. Perry is of the BEST character.

You forgot Bachmann.. the only real conservative..
Santorum is like a douche to Lady Liberty and Paul is like a laxative.. to Uncle Sam..
Romney is a wolf in sheeps clothing and Newt is like a Hyena..
Currently I’m going with the Hyena.. republicans NEED a sneaky vicious carrion eater to dismantle the Federal Government..
NOPE I’m going with Newt.. we can elect a Lion in 2020..
Romney is a wolf in sheeps clothing and Newt is like a Hyena..

I would have more faith if I thought Romney was a wold in sheeps clothing. I see Romney as a sheep in wolfs clothing.
That won’t help us and Obama will eat his lunch.
carp!corrections!: I would have more faith if I thought Romney was a wol*f* in sheeps clothing.
I see Romney as a sheep in wolves clothing.
He lacks backbone and he is a go-along sort.
Like a scout looking to finish all his badges, but there is no heart in it only the motions for a prize.
Romney is also like the rich kid who pays to have the best match-box derby car instead of getting in the garage and workin’.
Like I said.....
Politics is a blood sport and this time around, the stakes are very high for our Nation.
Think of the Republican primary process as a no-holds-barred slugfest where the best man wins after knocking out all the rest. That’s the guy we want to be President. I wouldn’t worry too much about them ripping each other apart - these are big boys who can take care of themselves. The losers will still be alive afterwards to write a book or sell real estate.
“The public cannot be too curious concerning the characters of public men...Samuel Adams. We want someone we can count on, so we need to know if they got the “right stuff”.
The fix is in folks. Romney is going to be the nominee. Obama will run against the greedy Wall Street insider and the do nothing obstructionist Republican Congress. Romney will run an incredibly weak campaign, like McCain and Dole. The press will carry Obama’s water and run anti Morman pieces all summer long. There will be a September or October “surprise” — financial meltdown, terrorist attack at home, or start of war with Iran in order to rally the sheeple to the leader in the last few weeks of the campaign. No doubt as soon as he gets the nomination, Romney’s Wall Street donors will shift to Obama while the disgusted GOP conservative base minimizes individual contributions. Massive voter fraud in the cities, gerrymandering of voting districts in the South by liberal court orders, and a demoralized conservative movement, plus Obama’s billion dollar campaign fund will ensure a Romney concession speech in November.
The Dems will retain the Senate and recapture the House with a small majority. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid will then be in position to ensure Obamacare is implemented, put a liberal majority on the Supreme Court, gut the military, force unionization on private companies, give citizenship to illegal immigrants, and redistribute wealth through higher taxes and regulation. The Republican minority leaders in Congress will be content to provide token opposition while continuing to enjoy their perks.
This is all a play staged for our entertainment. The outcome is written. The real allocation of power in America occurs in back room meetings of the wealthy elites. In a year when Obama should have gone down to a landslide defeat, they have orchestrated events to ensure both his victory and the destruction of the opposition party.
You don't have much faith in the American people! Go to a Tea Party rally and, if you're paying atention, you may well see the bright side - patriotism is alive and well in the US of A.
