I guess he’s lost faith in “the people”, and figured out he has to endorse a real candidate.

Hopefully, this will help — Cain was polling very well in Florida at one time. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of early voting. But maybe this can help turn the momentum around.

I hope the announcement is covered by the media.

Realistically, Gingrich has likely lost Florida. But it makes an enormous difference how big or small Romney’s lead is for Gingrich’s viability going forward. If Gingrich remains reasonably close, he can maintain popular support and fund-raising ability, and pick up some delegate-rich upcoming states.

Florida has 50 delegates. But Texas - primary on April 3rd - which Gingrich would surely win, has 155. And it’s not just Texas. A state like Minnesota - which I never thought of as a conservative bastion - has 40 delegates, and Gingrich is heavily favored in the latest poll released 1/25 (Gingrich 36 v. Romney 18):

I doubt that Cain has lost faith in “the people.” I think it is much more likely that he has totally lost faith that the lying POS Romney will run a clean campaign. I’m sure he was contacted by people here in Florida and was told about all the garbage Romney has been trying to pull. It is absolutely disgusting and just as bad as anything he pulled four years ago. I have not supported Newt at all, but Romney’s actions have been so vile, it even got me to decide to vote for Newt anyway.

I have no doubt that Romney was behind the smear campaign against Cain because the stench of Romney was everywhere. Maybe after seeing Romney in action down here, Cain realizes just how sleazy Romney really is.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of early voting.

How do you know? Do you have a link?

Another thread here quotes news reports that Broward County (Florida SE Coast) early voting was light.

While I don’t share the enthusiasm for Newt, I’m curious what the impact will be. I’ll be surprised if there’s a big bounce after people have had such a long time to make up their own minds.

Cain was my first choice but this won’t get me to Newt. Others who were more open to Newt are likely already in his camp. Curious how many Cain supporters remain(ed) undecided to this point.
