“Has anyone else noticed that “Romney surrogates” seem almost......cult-like?”

His is a close-knit cult.

Remember who it was who started the policy of having all congressmen do earmarks. It wasn’t Rick Santorum.

Santorum, hated as he was for Toomey, was considered more conservative than Newt Gingrich back in May. Nowadays it seems “more conservative” is defined as “polling better against Romney”.

I have no doubt that if Santorum was polling better than Newt, 80% of FR would be supporting Santorum, and calling Newt a moderate.

So the front runner ABR candidate should drop out to let the last place ABR candidate TRY to beat Mittens? Sounds kind of kookie to me. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I think Newt will have it won before the convention. The Rombot liars will have morphed into crazed banshees by then.

Even the surrogates are a bad take on one of Gingrich’s promises - that if Obama refuses to debate him, he’d show up within four hours after every Obama speech and issue a rebuttal.

But being typical Romney, Romney is (a) not doing it himself and (b) attracting no audience. You never read about Romney’s appearances - because it would be too embarrassing for the press to have to report it.

Pssst...there’s a reason Santorum’s not polling well. Nobody likes him.

>> Santorum is not conservative.

Santorum is a big government statist. I respect his accomplishments, but he takes himself too seriously for an individual that desires the Presidency.

He has to learn how to be combative without sounding too plaintive (whiney, if you will). He has to be composed and be a fire-breather at the same time. I don’t know if it’s in him. I don’t dislike him. Romney, I don’t like!

After the last debate, it occurred to me that Newt's response to the question Blitzer posed to Romney (right after Santorum "blitzed" him for pitting Mitt and Newt against each) should have been:

"There you go again!"

Maybe someone can whisper in Newt's ear that the next time a moderator tries to do what Wolife did, or the next time Romeny starts accusing him of stuff, he should quietly shake his head and use that line.

Think it could bring the audience to their feet, and bring down the house (and maybe with it the "house of cards" the Rino's are using to stack the deck against Newt).

I can dream, can't I?

The guy who is within ten points of Romney should drop out and let the guy trailing by 30 points have the race? Seems illogical.

"People ask me what can we do about getting more jobs in America? And the answer is: defeat Barack Obama!

People say what can we do about housing foreclosure problem in Florida? The answer is: defeat Barack Obama!

People ask about the price of gasoline and the answer is: defeat Barack Obama!"

Romney's expected to win NV because of a large Mormon population.

That's one reason Newt winning FL is so crucial to keeping the nomination fight going. Feb has few debates and several Romney-favorable locations.

As a Ron Paul supporter, I prefer that Gingrich win Florida. That way, Romney doesn't get them. Florida is not awarding delegates proportionally.

Romney and Paul are on the ballot in all 50 states. Gingrich and Santorum are not.

It's mathematically impossible for Santorum to win outright, and extremely unlikely that Gingrich could do so, because he's not running a full slate of delegates in all states (even in ones where he's on the ballot,) delegates will be awarded proportionally in most states (so even losers get delegates, and the winner doesn't get all of them,) he has far less money that either Romney or Paul, his campaign organization is nowhere near as capable and competent as are those of Romney and Paul, he polls substantially worse against Obama than do either Romney or Paul, and his negatives are much higher nationally.

Santorum had an unusually good night Thursday because he was free to land haymakers with no fear of being hit back. This allowed him to be uncharacteristically relaxed. Normally, he is more wooden and tense. Large numbers of people haven’t warmed to him. I think many here would take Rick over Romney, but he has no chance to win. Therefore, Newt is the best choice of this bunch.

Well, I hope that sends a message to those who need to hear that Florida is not the culmination of the Mitt Romney coronation.

This is not over by far, though the powerful want us to think that this is it for Gingrich.

From what I read..

Bass was asked by Hammond, a Gringrich guy at the event:

“Congressman, do regret asking Newt for his endorsement this year?”

Hypocrites!

How about rick drop out, seeing he isn’t even trying, so we can seriously beat Romney?

This isn’t affirmative action. He had his chance, and now it’s time for him to stop wasting time and resources for a vanity run.

And it is time for his supporters to stop acting like vultures, hoping for a Romney win to justify him staying in.
