Reaction to the Jan Brewer encounter is still bubbling, with some black commentators now suggesting the image of the Arizona governor wagging her finger at the President of the United States has touched a nerve in the African American community.
On MSNBC Thursday, Al Sharpton posited that Brewer's treatment of President Obama was another example of disrespect in a list of many for the nation's first black president. His guest, Sirius XM host Joe Madison, said such incidents show that there are people "who cannot stand the fact that this is an African-American who is now one of the most powerful individuals on the planet," Mediaite reported.
An NAACP official went a few steps further in an interview with POLITICO Friday, saying the tiff played on age-old and discriminatory stereotypes of whites being superior to blacks. Hilary O. Shelton, senior vice president for advocacy and policy at the NAACP, said he was particularly disturbed by Brewer telling reporters afterward that she "felt a bit threatened if you will, in the attitude that he had."
"What were you afraid he would do, steal your purse?" Shelton said.

The man is President, he is not God. Treating him like a human being is not “disrespect”.
There are the race-hustlers that must come out and declare this a racist incident, and then there are regular blacks on the street.
Could there be a disconnect here? Remember, Jan Brewer is known for her attempt to control illegal immigration. Blacks in the street are having their jobs taken by illegals. This is an issue on which blacks have consistently been for the conservative solution.
In the visual, Obama towers over her, and is obviously in her face. This makes Sharpton et al, look decidedly wimpy in crying foul. The fact that they have to come to his defense by playing the race card makes Obama appear weak.
To every action, there’s a reaction. I’m not sure keeping this in the headlines is a good thing for the left.

They have to do anything they can to get the black vote all riled up and ready to vote for Obama a second time. Every election year there is some manufactured black outrage.
These people are getting as thin skinned as the muzzies. Plus always taking the opportunity to play a race card.
I was watching Juan Williams on some show on FNC and he was off the wall with indignation.
I understood Obama was 1/2 white, 1/4 arab, and 1/4 black. He’s not even half black.

Well, in my general neighborhood I still see (now and then) blacks wearing clothing with BO's face on it.
A few weeks ago I saw a black woman wearing a jacket with "[BO], King of African Americans" printed on the back of it. I just about did a double take.
Honestly, there really are people out there who think/feel that way about BO, and they voted for him, and they'll still vote for him if they get a chance to do so.
