Florida pro-life event may only hear from Gingrich [No Mitt]
One News Now ^ | January 28, 2012 | Charlie Butts

"This is the third [pro-life] event that he has declined to attend," says Mason. "It seems he is not interested in engaging with social conservatives, not interested in defending his apparent pro-life conversions, and not interested in courting those who are pro-life or pro-marriage -- both."

[snip]

Personhood USA is hosting the third conservative presidential forum in Florida on Saturday...but Newt Gingrich may be the only candidate to speak.

The forum, called "Florida Awake," is co-sponsored with Liberty Counsel. Personhood USA president Keith Mason says Mitt Romney will be a no-show again.

On Friday, a spokesperson for Personhood USA reported to OneNewsNow that Rick Santorum -- a strong pro-life advocate -- will not attend the forum as well, leaving just Newt Gingrich as the only candidate confirmed to appear.

Mason and Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver will co-moderate the Saturday event, which has been sold out since earlier this week. It will be streamed live.

Why would pro-choice Mitt attend a pro-life event? It’s like Newt or Santorum heading over to a Planned Parenthood/Girl Scout rally.

Santorum has apparently left the campaign trail. He hasn’t announced he’s finished, but the hand writing is on the wall. Whether he drops out, and especially whether he will endorse someone else, remains to be seen. But I suspect it’s over for him. I would think this would negatively affect his vote count on Tuesday.

The old axiom "actions speak louder than words" is still true.

I have to hand it to Newt. He is not letting up and is a fighter. The kind of man we need in Washington. GO NEWT GO!

All Willard has to do is say, “it’s above his pay grade” and he is good to go.

Santorum went home for the weekend to “pay his taxes” and said he has no intention of dropping out..and that he is very happy with how the campaign is progressing.

Not sure about all of that.

My understanding is that since Florida is a "winner-take-all" state and he knows he can't win it, Santorum decided not to spend any more time in Florida. He went home for the weekend to rest and regroup. I know he's conserving what little cash he still has, but I understand he plans to go to Nevada/Utah (can't remember which) and campaign there.

That isn't to say he WON'T quit the race, just that his absence in Florida isn't, in itself, proof.

(Full disclosure: I'm still very much "undecided" on everyone except Mitt. I will NOT vote for him.)

Santorum can say what he wants. The simple fact is, anyone serious about remaining a viable candidate doesn’t walk away from campaigning a few days before the primary. I’m sure it’s because of money, but there are ways to schedule low-key events that don’t eat up big expenditures. The problem is, this gives an image to the public he’s not fully invested in his campaign. And I don’t see how he can recover from it; whether he continues to campaign or not. Who would really want to contribute to a campaign if the candidate appears so uncommitted?

Of course the devious sleazeball won’t show up. His hands have blood on them, and he knows it. Even HE can’t fake it enough to be at a pro-life event.

When a whole event is about the Right to Life, it is hard for Mitt to just lie quickly and move on.

Newt was FANTASTIC!

Great questions, super audience. The video should be terrific.

His poise and confidence is reassuring, inspiring, uplifting and PRESIDENTIAL.

Is Romney really pro-life or is he pro-abortion?

You gotta answer that for yourselves.

Planned Parenthood cited in Romneycare legislation. Taxpayer funded abortions.

Hi, what fonts did you use for

"baby"

"under construction"

and "2012"

respectively?

I got the original t-shirt pic from this site:
http://compare.productwiki.com/got-baby-girl-baby-under-construction-t-shirt/

The “2012” came from what I thought was an Obama campaign site, but it appears that his official logo font is different than the one I used.
