Not “flack”. A Flack is a public relations spin doctor. FLAK = Fleiger Abwehr Kanone (German for anti-aircraft cannon). WW2 American and British aircrew adopted the German word “flak” as a slang term for anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) fire. Very correct: flak is heaviest over the target.
