It appears that we now live in a country governed by an oligarchy of sorts. Actually, it’s more like a small ruling coalition of those who went to the same schools or have wealth and who are essentially impervious to the rules they want to make. The US is not a free country anymore, strictly speaking.

They consider themselves "Aristocracy - to the Manor Born" - born to rule...like the Aristocracy of old England pre-WW1.

How DARE upstarts like Newt and Sarah presume to rise to their level. They didn't go to Harvard. They didn't go to Yale. They are not from the "anointed ones." They're naught but commoners.
