They know Newt is the only one who can beat them in November, so they’re trying to deny him the nomination, no holds barred.
Could just be the liberal media blocking the ads because they want to elect Romney. It’s not often you get a bonafide secular progressive on the Republican ticket. It’s far, far, far more valuable to the left to have a progressive become the leader of the Republican party than to have Obama get reelected. It would absolutely destroy the Republican Congress’ ability to coalesce around any kind of conservative agenda.
