What is a “live truck?”

Does it needs a mechanic or a doctor?

:o)

A live truck is the news truck that TV stations take to the scene of their live remote reports. “Reporting live, from the scene, I’m So and So, Fox 5 News.” If the report is a big deal and the reporter might be there all day giving updates, or if they simply want to do a live update during the news, it’s a large van with the microwave dish on top that telescopes up to the sky. This allows the broadcast signal from the live event to be sent back to the TV station’s own dish so we have a clear transmission. Cables, camera batteries, TV monitors, microphones and many other accessories are in the truck and it enables the TV crew to broadcast and record their reports anywhere.
