Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York and president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops responded, “in effect, the president is saying that we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences.”

It's on. This is the anti-theist Left taking on, confronting directly, the largest and most-coherent Christian church directly, on matters of faith and conscience.

This may be the first time since Galerius that the Church has received a direct challenge like this from secular government.

This is the beginning of the Left's persecution of people of faith.
