And, frankly, I believe the GOP elite wants exactly that. I believe they want to lose to Obama. I believe some horrible American collapse is very close. And I believe the GOP would rather that the history books note that it was a Democrat at the helm at that time.

The fix in in for Romney. If Newt does not pull off an upset in Florida, and it goes to Romney, I will simply not vote. I will let the GOP go down in flames. The difference between Romney and Obama is, Obama does not care about his job and spends most of his time on vacation, campaigning or playing.
Romney on the other hand, will try to engineer his Socialist, Bigger Government (more streamlined he says) and will actually do far more harm than this do nothing incompetent now in office.

I think both parties are jockeying for who get's to control how much statism/socialism when trying to rebuild America. After all, it wouldn't possibly occur to them to READ the Constitution every once and a while and re-apply that framework to get us out of the crapper.
