That Was Quick: The Entire Conservative Establishment Has United To Kill Gingrich's Campaign
Business Insider ^ | 1/26/12 | Michael Brendan Dougherty

The entire GOP establishment has unleashed on Newt Gingrich this week, and it looks like it is slowing his momentum in the polls. Almost all of the anti-Newt Gingrich material hitting the media is coming from conservative institutions: National Review, The New York Sun, and the Washington Times. Just look at the Drudge Report from last night and early this morning.:(Snip for graphic) The number one news source for many populist and conservative readers, looks like an anti-Gingrich pinboard. There are twelve anti-Gingrich links leading the site, with video of Gingrich trashing Reagan,

You can’t mean that you don’t realize the GOP establishment is now pro-socialist?

I noticed you forgot to copy this as well...

Allowing a communist to continue in power at the White House would be tantamount to treason...

I stand by my statement...I am a patriot first...I'll vote for Romney if I have to...but I will work like a dog to see him fail in every effort to morph into a Republi'Rat...

-—I have a sneaking suspicion that Rush’ wife is a Romney supporter. Please tell me I’m wrong.——

That’s the other possibility that crossed my mind.

Rush Revere tea probably wasn’t his idea either...

——Too bad Rush’s audience isn’t as smart as you. They will never figure out that there’s no there there. /s

Apparently you couldn’t remember any of the shocking allegations.

Rush is dumping on Newt now. He’s being clever about it.”There’s a coordinated attack against Gingrich now, there’s no doubt about it. But I didn’t know these things about him!”

Hey, JimRob? I didn't know if you've noticed, too, but every single so-called conservative has been co-opted. So glad you haven't.

If Mitt is foisted upon us it’s time for a 3rd party candidate or Palin to enter or whatever is most destructive to the GOPE. I dislike Romney just as much or more than Obama. And Santorum, get out you a-hole.

Man, more non-sequitur.

My point was that the fact that someone is hated is no proof at all that he would make a strong President of the United States.

Does anyone REALLY believe Mitch McConnell wants to DO anything in the Senate? Does anyone believe he isn’t happier just making snide remarks and then falling in line?

And does anyone REALLY believe there would be any difference between a President Mitt and President Mitch?

I think the elites believe Obama has this wrapped up. Obama will outspend our guy 10-fold using foreign donations, and the media attacking Newt now will round on Mitt as soon as he gets the nomination wrapped up. All they care about now is getting a presidential candidate who won’t rock the boat!

“Allowing a communist to continue in power at the White House would be tantamount to treason...

Sorry...no matter how much a piece of crap Romney is I can’t turn my back on my country....we can deal with Romney later, we need to stop the bleeding NOW.”

So you are saying vote for Romney or I am a traitor?

Like the old saying goes...if the shoe fits....

To knowingly allow the continued destruction of the country is a dereliction of duty and tantamount to treason. Something not clear in that statement?

I would like nothing better then to have the perfect candidate to wipe the floor with that communist in office....but I might not....do I turn my back on the country? Ask yourself that question...the answer is obvious if you care anything for the future of the country. We are not going to purge the progressives in our party by insuring victory to the other one.

The Clintons know a whole lot as well.

Now, some may argue this is all worth the price of admission and politically survivable.

Or that there is no alternative: there’s no way out but through.

But all that said, clearly this is going to take up huge amounts of time and political capital. I am truly crushed that we went from hotly debating scrapping the entire tax system and replacing it with something new to spinning from one dust-up to another, with no end in sight.

I beleive that Gingrich is hated by the establishment because they can't control him. Sure, Gingrich can be erratic in the idea department but I do believe that he is thoroughly American in his beliefs. Whether he sticks to those beliefs, I can't predict. However, one has to have some kind of basis or starting point to begin to form a choice. Gingrich did important work in Congress concerning tax cuts and welfare reform. He did appear to step on some toes and this is one fact the establishment is pushing with abandon.

I have no faith in the conservative establishment anymore. If it had at all been true to its principles, Obama would have stood more scrutiny and vetting. How idiotic to give a country over to someone you know nothing about, who can prove little of their origins, their time in foreign countries, their core beliefs, etc. As a result, we get ObamaCare foisted upon us, tyranny in the most important aspect of our lives.

So your position is that it is OK to elect a liberal as long as they have an R after their name.

Got it.

Not me.

I AM NOT a Republican.

I am a CONSERVATIVE.

OBJECTION!

I really wish the crap the absolute crap, of equating "Republican" with "Conservative" would cease.

Not only is it sloppy journalism at best, but "Republican" is a label, easily changed as putting on a new sticker.

"Conservative" is a philosophy and a way of life.

I'm a conservative too.....and a warrior that defended it for more then 20 years...and I do not want to hand my country over to the enemy I fought because of stupid PRIDE!

I understand pride is hard to swallow....but it's a whole lot easier to swallow then a communist takeover of the country...

What say you Mr. “Conservative”..

No vote against that stinking Marxist is a vote FOR him..
