RE-ELECT OBAMA: VOTE NEWT!
January 25, 2012To talk with Gingrich supporters is to enter a world where words have no meaning. They denounce Mitt Romney as a candidate being pushed on them by "the Establishment" -- with "the Establishment" defined as anyone who supports Romney or doesn't support Newt.
Gingrich may have spent his entire life in Washington and be so much of an insider that, as Jon Stewart says, "when Washington gets its prostate checked, it tickles [Newt]," but he is deemed the rebellious outsider challenging "the Establishment" -- because, again, "the Establishment" is anyone who opposes Newt.
This is the sort of circular reasoning one normally associates with Democrats, people whom small-town pharmacists refer to as "drug seekers" and Ron Paul supporters.
Newtons claim Romney is a "moderate," and Gingrich the true conservative -- a feat that can be accomplished only by refusing to believe anything Romney says ... and also refusing to believe anything Gingrich says.
-- Romney's one great "flip-flop" is on abortion. (I thought the reason we argued with people about abortion was to try to get them to "flip-flop" on this issue. Sometimes it works!)
Nearly two decades ago, when Romney was trying to defeat champion desecrator of life Sen. Teddy Kennedy, he sought to remove abortion as a campaign issue by declaring that he, too, supported Roe v. Wade.
(Nonetheless, Kennedy ran a campaign commercial against him featuring a Mormon woman complaining that Romney, as a Mormon elder, had pressured her not to have an abortion, but to give the child up for adoption. Are you getting the idea that Massachusetts is different from the rest of America, readers?)
Romney changed his mind on abortion -- not when it was politically advantageous, but when it mattered. As governor of liberal, pro-choice Massachusetts, he vetoed an embryonic stem cell bill and "worked closely" with Massachusetts Citizens for Life. The president of MCL recently issued a statement saying that, "since being elected governor, Mitt Romney has had a consistent commitment to the culture of life." Read More »
You may be right about her wanting BO to win. Therefore she can continue to take the stage and bytch about what a shape the country is in all because of the Demonrats (and RINO’s too but she won’t say that). Get a real Conservative in the White House and she’ll be diminished, imho.
And I'm not zotting you, just can't get on your ankle biting bandwagon right now, I have previously said that while ankle biters are pesky, they are not the worst of the trashers, bashers, slashers lot, but they usually grow up to be so knowing that these cases seldom end well, guess we'll just politely say goodbye and part company while we're still friends.
bye

I appreciate all that Ann has done for conservatism in the past, but I am done until she comes to her senses about Romney and Newt. She has disappointed me on this one and I can no longer just ignore this as a disagreement among conservatives. I must now seriously question her judgment.
Ann, WTF?! You’re comparing me to a drug-seeker because I support Newt? That’s unconscionable, Ann.
Was that a .45 acp?
It’s not my PS, but it does look like a .45 ACP to me too.

Ann Coulter to Serve as Honorary Chair of GOProuds Advisory Council
So why is gay activist Ann Coulter and her longtime BFF Matt Drudge backing Mitt Romney, the governor who introduced gay marriage to the nation in Massachusetts, for president so enthusiastically? Just like the courts legalized gay marriage in Massachusetts during Governor Romney’s tenure, do Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge think Mitt Romney will appoint Supreme Court justices who will institute gay marriage nationally?
KMA!
Running Gingrich against Obama would be like campaigning to replace the captain of the Titanic with the captain of the Exxon Valdez or the captain of the Costa Concordia. Coulter is simply spotlighting the many ways that Gingrich is unfit to be at the helm of the ship of state in a time when, if it hasn’t already hit the iceberg, it’s headed straight for it.
Compared to Bret Stephens, of course, she’s a cockeyed optimist:

The GOP Deserves to Lose
That’s what happens when you run with losers.
I’ve learned a lot from reading her columns and books over the years, despite the toxic rhetoric and her ‘take no prisoners’ debating style. Arguably, she is simply mirroring her adversaries’ toxic talk, even as they are so lamely and hypocritically “shocked, shocked” that a conservative has the nerve to call them out with rhetorical moves as outrageous as theirs.
Newt a conservative? Read all of Coulter’s columns on the Newt again: Gingrich is all over the field, but can usually be found wherever the density of available money to rent political insiders is highest, or the hottest available woman may be found.
Gingrich would be an empty suit, a hollow man, if he weren’t so full of himself (he truly resembles Obama in that way, though without a Michelle to trim his sails with the help of her own gargantuan ego and sense of entitlement). Another poster stated that he (she?) is praying for Newt. That is admirable and appropriate. It is also appropriate to pray for a better fate than Obama or Gingrich in the White House in 2013, although if the ship of state has already hit the iceberg (a real possibility given the fiscal wreck immediately ahead on the current course), it won’t really matter all that much.

Perhaps it’s better to invest less effort in handicapping the next captain of USS Titanic, and give closer attention to checking out one’s flotation gear and drifting closer the life boats. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/21/us-usa-civilization-collapse-idUSTRE80K0LA20120121
(Don’t miss the reader feedback comments on this one; they’re illuminating and some are quite funny.)
It looks like a Taurus Millenium PT140 or PT145.
The national debt is $36 Trillion?
Even so, I am completely confident that I could cut $1.2 trillion from the budget.
“Maggie Thatcher got British rail private and sold it off and this should be done here.”
Japan did the same thing. Matter of fact, I was the one who told them what to call the newly privatized companies.
Coulter’s excuse for Mittens being the father of Obamacare is that, well, Gingrich supported it, too?
Pathetic.
I noticed Coulter also studiously avoided mention of Romney’s gun control and homo hugging history.
What on earth happened to Ann Coulter?
BRAVO ANN!!!!
Me neither!
“Ann Coulter, Andrew Sullivan, and Joe Scarborough walk into a bar...”
Great comment.
Have you seen Drudge today? It’s wall-to-wall anti-Gingrich. It looks like Romney has bought the site. I wonder how much he paid.
Blah. Blah. Blah. A lot of words and you said absolutely nothing. DU seminar caller. IATZ.
