As Ben Domenech notes in his Transom, Mitt Romneys advisors have now advised him to support a $2 gas tax, a VAT, and open Taliban talks. Add to that list not repealing Obamacare.
Weve had this dribble out at the Romney Fan Club over at National Review too just fix it, dont repeal it. There are practical reasons for doing so, but we should not lose our perspective. The base of the Republican party is energized by the prospects of complete repeal. All the candidates have said they would repeal it. Mitt Romney, within the past two years, flipped his position going from nibbling to full repeal.
In the South Carolina debate on CNN last week, Newt Gingrich said he did not trust the congressional staffs (plural) and would therefore insist on full repeal via reconciliation, which is how the Democrats passed it in the first place through the Senate. His was a wise point. The congressional staffs, both Democrat and Republican, have started functioning as an entrenched legislative branch bureaucracy both doing what they think best for the country even when the voters want otherwise.

Further proof RINOs and Demos are the same thing.
If this is really true, Newt needs to get on it right away. This is beyond frightening. It needs to be fact checked in a big way.
I never have trusted Romney and still don’t. Once you get Massachusetts all over you, you just cannot get it off of you.
I knew we couldn’t trust Mitt. He says what he thinks people want to hear but following through would be an entirely different thing. Obama broke lots of promises to the left and Mitt would be that equivalent to the Republican party.
Maybe this is good. The second he changes his stance on repeal is the same second he loses the nomination.
In action Romney has never been any different than Obama. The only argument between them is who gets to rule over lives of other human beings.
Not true. Obama doesn't support gay marriage. Romney does. Romney is more pro-homosexual agenda than Obama.
The a-hole Romney needs to be soundly defeated in Florida so we can be rid of him sooner, rather than later.
His base will leave him when this hits CNN....
Why bother voting for Romney, the challenger when the incumbent will do? Romney needs to be destroyed in Florida- utterly and completely destroyed.
Amazing list - he is left of Obama. Talk with Taliban, a $2 gas tax, and VAT? Not suprising about the Obamacare position - after all, Mitthew started it.
Romney is “Done like dinner.”
