There are “patriotic” shades of blue?

Where it's so shiny (reminds me of those cheap -- but bright -- sateen grammar school dance recital costumes), it's hard to tell, but it looks like a shade of blue an Israeli teacher of mine once pointed out as the shade Arabs favor to repel evil spirits . . . probably not, though, since it doesn't seem to be working! ;-)

I put out bird seed in the yard on plastic plates that color blue, because birds are attracted to it from the air. I guess the Arab nomads were frightened whenever a raptor landed on any blue silks hung outside their tents.
