The poll is on the right side of the screen, half way down. It is rather ambiguously worded, as it makes no differenciation between legal or illegal. However, the Second Amendment is pretty clear.

Reminds me of the last few paragraphs of “Patriots” by Rawles.
Of course not!
- and blacks should still be slaves on campus,
- women should not be allowed to vote on campus,
- students should have no right to privacy on campus,
- free speech should be banned and a religion mandated on campus,
- cruel and unusual punishment allowed by campus police,
- etc, etc, etc,

Yes, they should be allowed to carry on campus.
Not in the classroom. Imo.
Should Idaho college students be allowed to carry guns on campus?

Their computation engine must do some serious rounding!
How would that work logistically? Would you have the students check their weapons with the teacher when they enter the classroom?
Do you think criminals would be thoughtful enough to leave their guns outside the classroom too?
Must be some hanging chads in there.
What do you do when you walk in at the post office or in federal building?
“Not in the classroom. Imo.”
I do what's required by law.
Why do you think it's a good idea to create gun-free zones that criminals will ignore.
It was only my opinion. I have teachers and police officers in my family who agree with my thoughts. If the majority people want it, that's a battle, I would not fight against.
You're entitled to you opinion. I'm trying to understand your reasoning.
How do you reconcile the idea of disarming the law abiding with the fact that criminals will ignore the law?
I'm not trying to pick a fight. I really want to know why you think the way you do.
FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
When I voted the percentages totaled 114%.
I recently got into a facebook tiff with a friend of 30+ years over this same issue being debated in NH House for abolishing the carry restrictions on campuses there. This friend is a professor on one of the state campuses and was pushing a petition to urge the legislator to oppose the bill. I used the same logic, articulated it clearly, and all I got was emotional arguments on the level of “I prefer to work in an environment were no guns are allowed”. Pointing out that persons with criminal intent don’t care about the college’s administrative rules, and denying those who wish to protect themselves in instances like Virginia Tech and UofA is unconstitutional and opens the college to potential liability, etc, was all of no import to this liberal friend. All that mattered to her was the emotional factors of “feeling safe”. I finally had to un-friend her on facebook because she chose to assassinate my character rather than debate the unemotional facts. I concluded that these people believe they live in a ivory bubble that somehow is immune to the US constitution, as if the college is within the boundaries of a completely different country. Still love her as a friend as we go back to our teen years, but there is just no getting through the real belief that the laws of the land stop at the campus gates, and no one can interfere. I think she may be in for quite a shock.
