I think older voters will find reasons to fault Romney. They are not going to vote for a Mormon to begin with, and will find him last night petty, shrill, cagey and slick looking.

Newt on the other hand looks distinguished, Churchillian and confident.

IMHO

Only FOX is saying Newt “fizzled”. Most other reports I hear, say Newt won hands down and that Romney faltered.

If your impression of the debate came out as you describe, then it is probably that way for most who watched it. The pundits who are on Romney's payroll try to spin it, but most of us see it the way you described it.

Newt is firmly in control and all Romney has is his rhetoric and puppet media. But IT AIN'T WORKIN’ for the Romulan!

Yes, that is the secret weapon against Romney — his Romneyness.

Speaking of which, I was listening last night to a post-debate panel that included Andrea Mitchell. Even she thinks he’s less exciting than dishwater. Nor did anyone there argue the point.

So to Mormon, petty, shrill, cagey and slick you can add dull.

Whereas Newt crackles in most encounters. Romney can never compete with that.

It’s been a while since we had a potential nominee with style and pizazz!
