So. They still have to get whoever they “select” enough delegates to win. That means winning primary elections.

If Mitt loses because Gingrich gets the majority of votes, are people suddenly going to give up Gingrich for another Milquetoast? They have to stop Gingrich, not select someone else.

And running another Bush (after only four years) is just too stupid for words.

Nope. Wishful thinking. They’re going to have to run it by us.

I am not so sure about that....if no candidate has 1440 delegates going into the convention, it will be brokered...after the pro forma vote the delegates are released from their obligation and free to vote however they want.

So I understand.

Bottom line is the Republicans do NOT have to run anything by us...they would be stupid no to do so, to be sure, but i do not think its a requirement....

[I could be dead wrong about all of it....]

That’s what I was thinking. Jeb Bush? No one wants another Bush in office. I would think he would be less likely to beat Obama than Mitt. Americans don’t like the name. IMHO that is why Perry didn’t do very well because he is from Texas and Americans associate it with Bush.
