You know, as a non-LDS Utahan, I think i may have my work cut out for me. My neighbors (who are LDS), are voting for Romney. Sadly, from conversations with them, there vote for Romney is based on one factor: HE'S LDS! I'm hoping I break through to them, that voting for a candidate based solely on their religious affiliation is not a prudent move. I told them that I would never vote for Huckabee even though we're both Evangelical Christians due to his stands on certain issues.

At any rate, please pray for the LDS citizens of Utah that their vote in the upcoming primary will be based on something more than their common religious affiliation with Mittens.

BTW, thank you all for your very kind replies :-)

" I guess it's more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here and a strong woman and-- you know?

But that's been an image that people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I'm some angry black woman."

Yes, recent Pew Forum polling data revealed this month showed that...
...Mitt's "fave rating" among Lds was at least 86%
...Obama's "fave rating" among Lds was 25%
Source: Solid facts about Mitt Romney and Mormons

So, let's look at that: That tells me...
...at least 1 of every 9 Mormons think favorably of BOTH Obama and Romney...
...and another 1 of every 7 Mormons think favorably of at least Obama...
...at least 6 of every 7 Mormons think favorably of Romney...and probably higher in Western states (19 out of every 20 UTAH & NEVADA Mormons voted for Romney in '08)
...Plus, it tells me that perhaps some -- certainly not all -- Mormon FREEPERS who have told us they aren't "Mittbots" would still vote for Mitt with absolutely no hesitancy.

Identity politics is absolutely rampant among Lds voters...certainly their religious and political prerogative...but hypocritical if they proceed to scold Evangelicals for taking the other-worldly beliefs & character & gullibility & lack of discernment of Romney into consideration in the ballot booth.

(Which further reinforces acting upon patterns -- as Jim has had to do of late -- re: his zots of steeped Mormons who couldn't abide by either host requests or basic standards of non-rudeness)
