Global Entry is a program to expedite me through passport control when I return to the US. Instead of standing in line for up to an hour, I'm on my way in minutes. I usually spend more time waiting on my baggage.

What did I give up in exchange? $100. Nothing else. All of the information on the Global Entry application came straight from my passport. And TSA pre-check is simply an extra benefit.

I don't like the TSA any more than anyone else. But, this is one program that makes sense: they aren't wasting their time on people that they have already screened, repeatedly.
