Gingrich v. Leftism
American Thinker ^ | January 23, 2012 | Bruce Walker

Posted on 01/23/2012 7:14:14 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

The endorsement of Newt Gingrich by Rick Perry, as well as the virtual endorsement of Gingrich by Sarah Palin, forms the battle lines for the Republican nomination. Look quickly for Santorum and Bachmann to line up behind Gingrich as well, just like Huntsman has endorsed Romney. In a three-man race with Gingrich representing historic conservatism, Paul embracing constitutional libertarianism, and Romney representing the pragmatic political wing of the party, Gingrich should wrap up the nomination relatively quickly.

The left, of course, will try to destroy Gingrich, just as it has been trying to destroy him since he forced Speaker Jim Wright into disgraceful retirement in 1989. Today, the attack will be on his personal life -- this by the same leftists who loved Bill Clinton, who ignored the ghastly behavior of John Edwards, and who since JFK have said that the private life of a political leader is not important -- but the left's real fear of Gingrich comes from Gingrich's understanding of the weaknesses of leftism and the ways to defeat it.

Begin with a much-maligned, much-misunderstood_document: Gingrich's 1994 Contract With America. As a tool of ideological war, it is unparalleled in modern American history. The purpose of the Contract, as Gingrich said clearly at the time, was to end the game which House Democrats had been playing for many decades: notionally support conservative ideas, but use control of the House to prevent any votes on measures which might implement those conservative principles.

The second part of the Contract was a solemn promise to bring each of the ten substantive bills for a vote in the House within the first 100 days of the new Congress and also to implement eight procedural changes in how the House conducted business on the very first day of the new Republican House....

The left (and the establishment) are very good at letting us know who they don’t want for president.

Newt’s rise is bringing them out of the woodwork. I think it will be easier to recognize the fakers from the rest of us.

One of their current strategies is to portray Newt as being allied with the media, and Romney as anti-media.

At this point I don’t see it. Just the opposite is true. If anyone can explain different, please do so.

Indeed.

As we all know, there is unanimous support for the Romney campaign by the MSM. The NYT, WP, CNN, MSNBC, Faux News, CBS, NBC and ABC are all pushing for Romney while they tell us that he is the best bet to beat Obama in November.

Really????

Are we supposed to believe that the MSM wants us to nominate someone who can beat their Designated Emperor? I don't think so.

In any case, get ready for the "We are thrilled with Gingrich as the GOP nominee" stories from the Dem Talking Heads (Carville et al) in the next few weeks and months. This, despite the fact that they are working harder than ever to make Mitt the nominee.

Do they think we're stupid or something?

Given that he's consistently supported by no more than 30 percent of Republicans, it's no wonder they're pushing for Romney. A lot of conservatives might stay home on election day and the conservatives might not win races farther down the ballot. But don't you worry folks! Romney will generate lots of excitement among the independents and moderates, yessir! They'll be WILD for him! That's how he'll beat the incumbent Obama -- with those broken-glass moderates!

New language currency required:

any reference to Newt’s marriages should be referred to as “Kennedyesque”.

Newt should refer to media trying to paint him as some kind of “JFK”

“Clintonesque” could also be useful, especially with Clintons still hanging around. It would help mute them much like Hillary’s decision against Keystone pipeline.

Two simple reasons for Newt’s SC victory:

#1 The people loathe Obama and how he has wrecked our country
#2 The people loathe the main stream media for protecting Obama and the Leftists.

And Newt articulates this loathing better than anyone

Nothing more; nothing less than this

And then the questions will have to be answered by Rick. How can you endorse a pro abortion (squishy at least) pro gay marriage candidate with all you “claim” to truly believe?

You are right, of course. They do think we're stupid! That's why we need our "betters" to tell us how to vote and how to live our lives.

...”#1 The people loathe Obama and how he has wrecked our country”....

Oh, that your view holds. I am under no delusions that the democrat party and their propaganda arm, so-called MSM, will lie, cheat and steal this election. America would have difficulty surviving another Obama term, unfettered by the need for re-election. Conservatives, GOP voters, must not stay home. Voting AGAINST Obama is imperative.

The Truth is the left and establishment Elitists are cared to death of Newt Gingrich.

He has the brass to out them all and will.

Rick Santorum should now establish ties with Newt during the rest of the campaign, and not attack Newt, or he will be
finished with us in the Tea Party Movement in Florida.

The Ads on my TV, Robo calls, snail mail, and radio by Mitt Romney are sending a message to us all he is not one of us, but an Elitist who will do anything to win, including helping the left.

We are now Backing Newt Gingrich in the Gulf Coast Tea Party movement.
