Mitt Romney supports Mitt Romney and nobody else. He has no political party because he has no core beliefs.

If Romney destroys himself, it will be because he’s exposed himself for the fraud he is, so I doubt anyone would take attack ads featuring his comments seriously. His political career will be over if he doesn’t win the nomination in 2012.

The real sticker is getting him to that point. We’ve put a dent in his campaign, but Romney still has a mountain of cash and the full faith & confidence of the GOP establishment. I’m waiting until tonight’s debate to make an assessment of his relative strength in Florida.

My daughter, somewhat a bit liberal but has a kid and a little bit of a clue, told me this morning, to my surprise...

“I’m not for Romney cause that religion he belongs to is a cult.”

First surprise that my daughter preferred anyone at all in the Repub primary as she doesn’t have much of a party affiliation. She sure doesn’t like Obama, make no mistake, her and her husband, but she’s not anti-Democrat or anything. I’m very involved with my local GOP while she says the Republicans make her uncomfortable.

Then she says....again to my surprise...”I’m for Newt. Who can blame him for wanting a Chevrolet instead of a Jaguar? So had an affair, what politician didn’t?”

Again, I’m surprised. I wouldn’t think she’s like Newt at all, not a whit, I don’t know why but again, she votes in every election but she’s hardly any staunch conservative. She doesn’t like Governor O’Malley so maybe my assessment of her is off. If nothing else, she’s not a political junkee like me.

She reminds me of a time when she got all involved with the Mormon church with some people down the street. I remember it well, whew. She was 16 and my husband were both fretting about her getting into the religion of those people BUT, understand here, I had no idea they were Mormon. I just know daughter was constantly going to church and bible meetings while husband and I were Christians, just ordinary folk. There was something spooky about those people and daughter’s involvement with them didn’t last but a couple of months.

Anyway, just an anecdote. I don’t know anything about Mormons and frankly it wasn’t until daughter went on a rant about Romney and his religion that I even knew that was the religion she’d been involved in during her adolescense of our dismay.

But she was quite vocal about it, saying she’d never want a Mormon for President so hey folks.....

Jus’ telling the story here....to my surprise.
