He kidnapped his ex-wife (who is married to Huckabee's cousin now) and their three children after killing her husband. Drove to his parents house close to here and left the kids. Cops chased him down and he shot & killed ex-wife before cops killed him.
BTW, he killed his brother in 1991 because he asked him to turn tv down so he could sleep.
The man suspected of killing a Hope native and kidnapping his family has been killed in a gunfight with police. Donald Hux, 36, of Arkadelphia, was killed in a gunfight with Union County police around 9 p.m. Sunday about three miles west of El Dorado on Hwy 82. There were no reports of any one else being injured.
Hux was the suspect in an early Sunday morning murder and kidnapping in Arkadelphia at the home of Hope native Sandy Carl Huckabee at 2304 Forrest Park.
Huckabee was found dead of a gunshot wound, apparently shot in his sleep around 4 a.m. He was a cousin of Hope native and former Governor Mike Huckabee.
Sandy Huckabee’s wife, Amy Hunter Huckabee, and three small children had allegedly been kidnapped by Hux, Mrs. Huckabee’s ex-husband.
Police say Donald Hux then drove to El Dorado where he dropped off the children unharmed at his parent’s home.
Arkadelphia police issued an arrest warrant for Hux for Capital Murder, Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm and Aggravated Residential Burglary. The Union County Sheriff’s Office, along with state and federal law enforcement agencies from surrounding states then began looking for Hux and Amy Huckabee.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Arkansas State Police reported that there had been shots fired as Hux was reportedly spotted leaving his parents home in El Dorado. Hux died in the exchange of bullets.

Mr. Hux was booked on 10-14-11 at 8:15pm. On 1-19-12, he was sentenced to 6 months Parish Jail time with credit for time served, a $500.00 fine or 90 days in the Parish Jail if he do not pay his fine for “Solicitation For Prostitution”. The date to pay the fine was deferred until 3-12-2012.
Quite the demographic.

I agree......but, I’m having a hard time figuring out how someone thought it was a good idea to marry into to this family.
Truly, he was an animal.....really sad.
Oh, and his sister “committed suicide” after Donnie killed their brother.
His mother lied on the stand when asked if Donnie killed the brother. She has, at least, two murders on her hands tonight.
He skinned animals alive and nailed them to trees if he didn’t like you and returned the collar to the owner with I’m sorry about your pet.
Someone should have killed his sorry ass a long time ago because the court system sure as hell didn’t work on him.

Friends of his ex-wife were trying to let her know the crazy bastard got out of jail AGAIN on the 19th.
I think he was suspected of killing a number of prostitutes in ARK, LA & TEX but law enforcement around here were too damn lazy to work the case, IMO!
That is one reason we have a new sheriff.

He was in jail more often than not. He just kept getting out because we can’t afford to lock up habitual CRIMINALS /s. We need to give them WELFARE because they are just misunderstood! /s
Oh, and his mother claimed everyone was just out to get him. It was all a conspiracy against their family.

I bet he was real careful about whose pets he tortured and killed, or indeed someone would have invoked “the son of a bitch just needed killing” exigent circumstances. At least around my demographics.

I think most of the people where he lived we’re elderly and they just didn’t want to deal with his MOTHER the enabler.
I know if any of the pets had been mine he would have been nailed to a tree himself!
I would have looked at him, smiled all devil-like, and said, "No. YOU are sorry about my pet."
Then I would have left without saying another word.
Then, somehow, an unfortunate accident would cause a visit of the Grim Reaper. You know, accidents like you are driving along the interstate, and all of a sudden your car explodes for no reason.
