Romney lost because he is a stink’n liberal and SC didn’t want him for that reason.

Yes, there is that, of course. But there's something else, too. Romney is not only widely identified as a liberal, but a Massachusetts liberal at that.

South Carolinians remember the last time a horde of people from Massachusetts showed up, about 150 years ago. South Carolinians didn't welcome them at the time, and were only too happy to see them go when they finally did leave.

Romney is about as welcome today as the last bunch from MA were in South Carolina. Which is to say...hardly at all.
