Here’s one of the clips:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCkFJqCzSW0

There are others on youtube but you’ve got to slog through a bunch of crap to find them. He later tempered his approach to saying he thinks it would be a good idea if each state came up with their own (socialist/fascist) healthcare plan and that his plan would be a good model, but some states might have better ideas.

In other words the man is in very much in favor of statist control over healthcare whether national or state mandated. He’s no free-market conservative, he’s a statist socialist/fascist control freak liberal elitist. It’s not free-market if he has to use government force to implement HIS chosen “free-market” plan.

Romney has absolutely no concept of conservatism or free markets or freedom, or of our treasured God-given unalienable rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. If he did he would never have been in favor of abortion as safe and legal in America or gay “rights” or gun-control or liberal activist judges or socialist/fascist government forced healthcare programs like RomneyCare!!

FUMR!!

Rebellion is on!!

Here’s another clip where he favors (national socialist/fascist) mandated healthcare programs in every state. It’s indexed on youtube, but unfortunately, even though it’s Meet the Press, it links to dailykos:

http://www.dailykos.com/tv/w/002874/

The mam is a committed enemy of the constitution. He’ll get his socialist/fascist programs implemented one way or another if he becomes president!!

Speaking of Newt on Pelosi’s couch, he apologized for that and admitted it was a dumb idea.

I haven’t seen Romney walk back his support for humans contributing to global warming:

Thanks for the clip of Romney praising Kennedy, by the way. I hadn’t seen that one. Will post it on a thread of its own.

I don’t want to give Daily Kos the traffic, or expose my poor beleaguered Windows system to more possible viruses, but I wholeheartedly agree, anything imposed of this ilk from above at the Federal level stretches the meaning of the US constitution beyond recognition. For individual states to choose independent systems like this may be great folly, but it isn’t a US constitutional problem. But I wouldn’t even want a president who was bully-pulpiting the idea.

Mitt’s praising Ted Kennedy for his behind-the-scenes work on Romneycare is confusing because Mitt’s admitted that Romney doesn’t control health care costs. He said that that wasn’t its goal, saying that getting everyone insured was the goal.

At the expense (if this were to gain a national or large foothold) of the brightest beacon of medical care advances in the world. Because of such advances people can go home the day after an appendectomy, which itself can be done with a laparoscope. While they don't do classical open heart procedures with a laparoscope yet, it probably is only a matter of time. If medical progress is allowed to continue under market forces, that is. It makes it a little harder for the poor to get care, but by no means impossible (Medicaid, etc. still exist). And they care they do get for their troubles is much better. That beats a walk-in-free cornucopia of mediocre to minimum quality care any day in my book, and I say that as one in danger of such poverty personally.

Newt did apologize for that - and THAT is the mark of a man with integrity who realized he made a big mistake sitting with Pelosi and endorsing her agenda.

Romney hasn't walked back his support of global warming. He's based his belief (per his own quote) on "what he's read," not what he knows as fact. He's also not (as far as I know) walked back his disdain for the coal industry. Coincidental too that he was once again joined with Kennedy about making sure windfarms (that are a blight on everywhere else in America) don't obstruct his ocean view.

Romney in 2003: Coal plant 'kills people'

Snip:

Mr. Foy had initiated a lawsuit that led to the cleanup of Boston Harbor and had worked to protect fishing grounds and seashores. Once in the Romney administration, he served as the governor’s negotiator on a regional climate-change initiative and put emissions caps in place for coal-fired power plants. With Mr. Foy by his side, Mr. Romney joined activists outside an aging, coal-fired plant in 2003 to show his commitment to the emissions caps. “I will not create jobs or hold jobs that kill people, and that plant, that plant kills people,” he said.

America is the "Saudi Arabia" of Coal

Snip: The United States as a whole has more recoverable coal resources than any other country on the planet-- over 262 billion tons-- enough to last over 200 years! Long after the rest of the world's coal, petroleum and natural gas reserves have run out, America will still have enough coal to satisfy its energy needs.

Residents upset over Cape Cod wind-farm plan

Massachusetts' Republican Gov. Mitt Romney and Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy, whose family compound in Hyannis would look out at the wind farm -- have warned that the unsightly turbines would depress property values and damage the local economy, which relies heavily on tourism. A Beacon Hill Institute study, commissioned by the opponents of the project, said 21 percent of the 98,000 jobs on Cape Cod were in tourism-related industries in 2000.

Romney has said the wind farm should not be built in "a national treasure. "

Romney reaffirms that global warming is real

Snips:

"I don't speak for the scientific community, of course, but I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," Romney said. I can't prove that, but I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer.

Romney’s comments were in line with his observations about global warming in his 2010 book, “No Apology.’’ In it, he wrote: “I believe that climate change is occurring — the reduction in the size of global ice caps is hard to ignore. I also believe that human activity is a contributing factor.’’

You’re VERY welcome Jim! Thanks for this thread and letting us vent. Judging by the Gingrich victory this week, lots of Americans will be venting at the ballot box for the leadership you endorse here on Free Republic.
