New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on Meet the Press today to do damage control for Mitt Romney and to explain why Newt Gingrich would not be an ideal Republican nominee despite his strong victory in South Carolina last night. He claimed that Gingrichs past actions have embarrassed the Republican party, and Mitt Romney was more suited to be the nominee because of his record and how he conducted himself in office as opposed to Gingrich.
David Gregory asked Christie to explain what about Newt Gingrichs politics or his character disqualified him from being the Republican nominee against President Obama. Christie suggested that Gingrich was too much like Obama, and we dont need another legislator in the Oval Office. He reminded Gregory that Obama jumped directly from a position as a legislator to the presidency, making the argument that executive experience was vitally important for the next president to draw a stark contrast with how Obama has governed.

Don’t think so. He’s written several article blasting Newt. If he’s coming back to him, then fine...
Mark Levin is another one who has provided a luke warm response.
I’ve found that people who dislike Newt haven’t listened to him. They have the old Newt in their mind. Fair enough.
But all I ask is give the guy another chance.
Look at Ann Coulter. Newt is the embodiment of what she’s asked for in a republican candidate. He goes after the press. He goes after the Muslims... He goes after Obama etc.
She has ear plugs in because she’s deaf to anything he says...
HEY ANN, NEWT ALMOST RAN THE TABLE IN A VERY CONSERVATIVE STATE. YOU’RE GUY DID NOTHING...NEWT EVEN HAD MORE MARRIED WOMEN VOTING FOR HIM... INDEPENDENTS...YOUNG PEOPLE, OLE PEOPLE ETC....
Hey, Ann. Wake up. Find some way to get back into the fold.
One good thing here. If Newt does make it to the White House, Christie will not be on his short list for either VP or Cabinet.
Thank you CC.
“No court anywhere in the United States will be allowed to replace American law with Sharia”
Newt Gingrich
Sharia Law has nothing to do with this at all, its crazy! he cried. The guy is an American citizen! He concluded that the Sharia Law business is just crap
and Im tried of dealing with the crazies, adding with disgust and frustration that its just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.
Chris Christie
You got that right. He likes to represent himself as pro gun. That is a bold faced lie. Check out his voting record and the truth will jump off the page.
No person can become president without carrying a chunk of fly over country into the electoral college. His record of voting for incremental gun control will eviscerate any national campaign he can muster. Christie needs to go home and find another donut. Talk to the closet socialists who support you but leave free Americans out of your political propaganda screams.
Can’t imagine a more thankless and hopeless job than doing damage control for Mitt Romney... oh wait... thought of one worse...Press Secretary for Obama...
Megyn Kelly has changed...alot. Her true colors are starting to show.
Message to Chrissy Hissy Christie...
STFU
fatass
That gun grabbing RINO has little room to talk. He was OK with the NYC mosque and hired a sharia muslim to be a judge in NJ. He apparently does not have the will power to reduce his weight so that he is not life threateningly obese and he wants to take pot shots at Newt. I don’t think so.
And they apparently didn't get your memo of Jan 20...
NOTICE to leftists, RINOs, establishment types, bots and trolls
The deal is Moslems believe the Koran is a copy of a perfect document kept in Heaven. Because of that belief (Koranic inerrancy) they believe that all civil and criminal codes as well as court judgments must be made within the framework of the Koran and consistent with the Hadiths (the further words and events of the Prophet and his Disciples).
Those who argue that the Sharia is garbage ~ I think Christie just did that ~ put themselves in the same category as those who desecrate the Koran and those who insult Allah and Islam.
There's no coming back from that one.
The Moslem he just appointed to the court now has a moral obligation to Islam and to Allah to kill Christie.
That's where those one-man jihad attacks come from.
Special Counsel James M. Cole concluded that Gingrich violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him. The full committee panel did not agree whether tax law had been violated and left that issue up to the IRS.[68] In 1999, the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the “Renewing American Civilization” courses under investigation for possible tax violations.[69]

Go back and read some of the threads from just a couple of months ago, even a month ago. A lot of people here hated Gingrich, hated his stand on immigration, said he was a progressive and a liberal and a RINO. He sat with Nancy Pelosi, etc. Now, he is the only “true” conservative and Republican in the race. Just take this place for what it is and it’s pretty enjoyable actually.
To each his own but Romney is as shallow as a sheet of paper. Another Scott Brown pretty boy. If you gather I don’t like pretty boys you would be right. They usually look good, smell good, smile well, are overtly friendly and covertly ruthless. They are more interested in what it takes to make their competition look bad than they are in doing the right thing for everyone to succeed.
Don’t get me wrong, Romney is bright, ambitious and successful but he is without principles. This has aided him in being successful in his chosen field.
I’ve dealt with Romney’s type for decades in business. I don’t trust them at all and when I give them benefit of doubt I usually regret it. I’ll take a scrapper with a good heart and sound principles that he will stand by no matter what, even if I disagree with some of them, every time. At least I know what I have to deal with when a man honestly states his position.
Actually, I think Steyn is right on the money as a RINO.
Talks a big game in his book but he is a Romney drifter.
This guy's entire name is an oxymoron.
He clearly has no clue that just as "Republicans" can be RINOs, citizens can be CINOs Citizens In Name Only, undermining the very foundations of the Republic, and using our own Constitution to defeat us.
Keep burning those bridges Governor. We want to make sure that Republicans around the country understand that talking tough sometimes doesn’t a conservative make.
lol...best comment
Megyn Kelly
Oh no! Say it isn’t so!
Kristol is the best political analyst FoxNews has, and I think he held back because he understands the conservative movement better than anybody else at Fox, and had a feeling what seems to be happening to Romney’s candidacy could and would happen.
That said, at least one person in the FoxNews Family had to refrain from shilling for Romney.
