“But something happened to her, ...”

In order to be a clever analyst & therefore make money, you have to have a unique opinion. Simply agreeing with everybody else is boring & trite. Being controversial earns a living.

Many of these people pick their positions to generate publicity. Much like a politician, they flip-flop on issues depending on audience.

I think this is the direction Coulter is heading.

Sorry, but I agree 100% with Ann. Newt’s record is not conservative. His “I am going to run a positive campaign” went south the minute he lost a primary. He has huge ethics issues, cheating issues, lying issues and the women of the USA will NEVER elect him. He is toxic.
So, nominate him and feel great about Obama term II.

Methinks its about time for the Palin family to take a trip to Walt Disneyworld.

I have been there twice and rented a beautiful vacation rental home for a whole month. The rates are cheaper than most motel rooms.

I can just imagine Sarah Palin at Epcot and the rest of the parks for at least a week.

If you watched the last two debates you saw Romney's glass jaw. He couldn't even handle little Ricky Santorum without getting all jittery and stuttering. He would be gobbled up like an hors d'oeurve by obama and his flunkies in the media.

Rove, Coulter, John Hinderaker, and others who have concluded that only Romney can garner the vaunted independents in the general election are wrong.

It is true that independents elected Obama. They voted for him for the shallowest of reasons-his race. Now they’ve been mugged by the reality of liberal policies’ failures. Independents are now in just as foul a mood as the rest of us.

People are angry and fearful, and this includes independents. For this reason, I believe Newt has a better chance to gain their favor than Romney, because Newt taps into that anger and fear. Newt won the FEMALE vote in SC, for crying out loud. Perhaps when women perceive that chaos is imminent, they go with the dude with the gun?

There’s an entirely new dynamic as relates to the independent vote now, as opposed to 2008. The media, having sold us this bill of goods, no longer have the ability to persuade. The 2010 elections, characterized by liberal media shilling for each and every Dem in local, state, and Congressional races, proved that the media have lost their ability to sway votes. This was the lesson of that election and it is what Coulter, Rove, et al, are missing. They ascribe too much power to the lib media.

Obama has taken liberalism from feel-good bumper-sticker slogans to actual practice, and it is failing miserably.

Independents are giving conservatism another look. Do they like what they see? I’m not sure it matters, they will go with their emotions, and that means they’ll vote for change. And that means Newt, not Romney, is better positioned to garner their vote.

Britt Hume said his negatives were so high that republicans in house and senate don’t want to be tied to him and will lose their seats and Newt will lose the house, the senate, and presidency. <<

Close!....but its the RINO’s that are worried.....They know damned well that if Newt gets elected...they're toast!.....They saw what happened in the last election and they're scared to death its gonna snowball if they cant convince the sheeple hes unelectable!!!

Well when the Jon Stewart media decides to poison the well it is because they have purposed it. You think for one minute they are going to roll out the 'red' carpet for wealthy Romney. So drink your media filled cup of mean, bad, sinning, NEWT is toxic and see what they do to the rich man of WALL STREET.

“Whatever happened to Ann?”

She has stayed single, and lives in NYC. Like Peggy Noonan, that is a sure recipe for turning liberal. If Newt wins the nomination, she’ll support Obama.

Those who swim in sewers eventually begin to smell like one.

"Huge ethics issues?" He was found responsible for one reporting error, which the House democrats behind the witch hunt acknowledged had originated in his law firm's office. He was still responsible, the buck stopped with him, so he agreed to pay expenses for the investigation-- not a fine, since the House found no financial benefit to the error.

The IRS cleared him of one other charge. Everything else was simply 'rat shit and was dropped. Basically the same thing as what they did to Sarah Palin years later. You think she has "huge ethics issues" too?

"Independents" gave the GOP their sweep in 2010. No reason to believe that after a lengthy campaign of lies and bullshit they won't sweep out Obama as well.

Newt has always been the “outsider”, that’s why the RINO ELITEST dumped him and don’t want him back. If you look at spending and earmarks before he became Speaker, his years as Speaker and after he left you’ll find both earmarks and spending were down during his years as Speaker and skyrocketed as soon as he was deposed. He showed what can happen when the “outsider” gets in. He did it once and will do it again.

Ann needs to stick with her Log Cabin friends. At one time she talked like a conservative. She used to be somebody; she cudda been a contender.

Yours is, by far, a better-written piece than Roger Simon’s of Politico, posted just after this observation of the once-truthful Ann Coulter.

Their pushing McCain went too far and if they could see that they wouldn’t be so blind-sided. Ironic how like sheep they are.

The establishment Republicans indeed did NOT support Reagan. They still don’t, as far as I’m concerned.

Well, I just found out here last night that Hume’s gay son was having an affair with a House enemy of Newt, and somehow in his grieving mind he hates Newt. Maybe it’s irrational hate or maybe Newt was not that nice at the time.

Maybe Newt once turned down Ann. :)

I think she just believes Romney can win while Paul, Santorum and Romney can’t.

If she truly thinks that, she's an idiot. Not only can't Romney win, he's going to drive conservatives away from the GOP. And worse, he won't be able to articulate a coherent, positive conservative message in the general election campaign which means that we'll miss out--yet again--on the chance to educate people about by conservative values are superior.

Win or lose, it is most important that we have an articulate candidate to help build the ideological base for future elections. Continuing to nominate failed liberal Republicans like McCain and Romney only hurts us down the line.
