Great post.

I worry about Newt's huge unfavorables. AT the same time I worry about the fate of our country.

What does it say that our side would worry about sending a Newt Gingrich, someone of stellar intelligence and brilliant ideas, human to a fault making many errors along the way to advance conservatism and the American way up against such a marixst as the Dear Leader? If the country is that far gone that we can only win 0with a milque toast Romney type,is there any hope for the country anyway?

One wonders.

I kinda doubt that Newt’s unfavorables rise to the level cited by Brit Hume yesterday.

Obviously, the divorce/bitter wife thing did not hurt him in SC, a religiously conservative state from what I understand.

The culture has changed, perhaps sadly, to the point where this sort of thing doesn’t have the impact it might once have had.

My candidate was Perry, but when he withdrew and endorsed Newt, it reinforced my liking for Newt who was my second favorite. I liked that he thanked Perry in his speech last night, and I particularly liked that he said he will be consulting with Perry.

Because Perry had all the right ideas and I hope he can influence Newt. Dismantle the EPA. Stop foreign aid altogether and put it back as deserved. Have a flat tax. Don’t even talk about what to do about illegals until the border is secure.

I don’t think the border is as big an issue to Newt as it is to Perry because Perry’s had to live with the disastrous effects of a porous border.

Does anyone know Newt’s stance on global warming now? I hope he’s realized that this whole fraud is a product of leftists and will fight it.

My thoughts exactly, rodguy. I’ve decided I’d rather down fighting!

And that's just it. You and I have advocated this for how long? I can't even remember, but about since we started this thread.

Essentially, folks, Rod and I are looking for a Republican with the guts to call the democrats and especially the media: DNC-joined-at-the-hips-to-Liberals media, when they lie, misrepresent and spew unfounded, easily debated and struck down talking points and other BS.

The rank and file American public know it's BS, too, but if we do not LOUDLY stand up for our beliefs and challenge their BS, who wins? The American Public gets confused, and frankly discouraged when we don't fight back.

Newt, as far as I'm concerned, is the only true fighter we have left in the Presidential race. I wanted it to be Palin, I really did, but ALAS, she's not running.

Newt is far from perfect, some will see him as too fat, too ugly, to pompous, to intellectual, with loads of (mainly false) baggage, but he WILL FIGHT.

The FIGHT IS NOW. 2012. NEWT WILL BRING IT!!!!!
