The manner in which Newt engineered his most recent political recovery, victory speaks succinctly of his place in history as the man who would be our next president.

I read the comments from readers of The Blaze’’ which I’m a big fan of as GBTVl. The vast majority of responses appeared to be in lock step with the anti-Gingrich win.
Is Gingrich just mccain reincarnated? I honestly don’t know. I do know that with all the infighting, it is chipping away at the ammo the Democrats have in their bag of tricks to help bring the empty suit to victory.

The smartest thing the establishment could do is just get on board, because no matter what, Mitt is NOT going to get the presidency.

Gingrich is no McCain. McCain wouldn’t say $h1t if he had a mouthfull.

Gingrich is Ross Perot with brains.

I cannot picture in any shape or manner Gingrich playing dead and basically giving up, or being accepting of 0' as a pres, let alone "our" pres. OTOH, McCain, I can... easily, and McCain did in fact "play dead" (and without really ever getting back up... he just played dead for most of his 2008 campaign).

Most on FR know the msm is a major enemy. Attacking the media is job one for Newt. The reaction is proof. Who are these people who report only what they want to report, report only how it helps their ideology? The internet has exposed them and Newt is going to start the process of bringing them to heel.

Newt was a history teacher and the one thing that I feel strongly about is that he loves America and will protect and defend her to his last breath.

Compare that to Obama and you have a winning candidate.

“The smartest thing the establishment could do is just get on board, because no matter what, Mitt is NOT going to get the presidency.”

Fox News was in full blown meltdown mode last night. They couldn't mask their anger at what happened.

‘Gingrich can;t win, it's impossible, his negatives are too high...bla bla bla.’

Shadeaud,

Newt is "not" Juan McCain reincarnated ...

If anyone in this campaign is Juan-II it's Mitt Romney ... who's just a 20-year old (non-military) "philsophical" clone of Juan ...

I admire Glenn Beck ... he's done some great stuff ... incredible stuff ...

But ... we're in a war ... a desperate war ... and there's never goning to be a "perfect" general or president ...

Generals U.S. Grant and George Patton, Jr. come to mind ...

They WON battles. Their personal lives were marked by questionalble decisons (especially Patton) ...

Yet AMERICA survived two (2) "desperate" wars because of (flawed) "victorious" men like Grant and Patton ...

I'm supremely confident that Newt will "take the battle to the Kenyan's doorstep" ...

Indeed, it might end-up being the FIRST election that Barack has had to fight ... and HE WILL LOSE !

Newt does not have a “knack” for understanding the electorate; he LISTENS!

When he goes out in the hustings, he doesn’t just pontificate, like all the other politicians and the media know-it-alls. He listens to what the people have to say, so that he can then lead them where they want to go.

It’s a basic principle of truly effective leadership, one which most politicians unfortunately ignore.

I’m very big on what Beck is doing, but I sincerely believe he has dropped the ball with Newt.

Glenn seems to be under the mistaken impression that if someone declares themselves a “Jacksonian,” it means they approve of Andrew Jackson’s presidency. When someone like Newt says they’re a Jacksonian, it means they generally avoid involvement, but if attacked will prosecute that attack with extreme prejudice.

Similarly, I believe Glenn has spent so much effort hating on Woodrow Wilson, that when Newt says he’s a Wilsonian, Glenn went ballistic before he ever clarified what Newt means by that.

"In both instances, he clearly tickled his conservative audience -- many of whom are skeptical of a media industry they view as left-leaning."

Talk about an understatement. Try "whom have no trust in a media industry they view as leftwing propagandists!"

Absolutely!

This wasn't just a Gingrich win...it was a 57 (Gingrich plus Santorum) to 28 repudiation of Romney!

Hillary Clinton is living proof that NO ONE can have negatives so high that they’re unelectable.

I worry about Newt being electable. I just spoke to two GOP voters, one truly conservative and one RINOish, both female...who said they “probably won’t” vote for Newt in the general.

One may just go Libertarian and vote Gary Johnson. The other said she may go Obama.

Now, both may well “get over it” and vote for him, but what about swing voters?

Swing voters, by and large, decide elections, and are responsible for Barack Hussein Obama. They are also largely non-ideological, politically ignorant, and usually vote for whomever they “like” best...can Newt win them over?

If only he and the other top contenders for the nomination weren’t members of the CFR (the organization that keeps the nation embroiled in globalism) and the Trilateralists more of us would be happy.

I think voters in Nov will look at the stupid bastard in there now and pull the Republican handle, no matter who is on that ballot.

“It’s not that I am a good debater. It’s that I articulate the deepest-felt values of the American people.”

Everytime this guy speaks it’s a teaching moment. It’s like that E. F. Hutton commercial.

I agree; Beck has been ranting about Newt being a "progressive"; but I think a lot of conservatives have made mistakes in hindsight that they regret. Look at Jim DeMint, who endorsed Romney in 2008.

I regret supporting John McCain in 2008, who is one of the worst GOP presidential candidates of my 57 year lifetime. While you have to honor the man for his POW experience, he has burned up all his token good-will on reaching across the aisle one too many times. I dislike Romney about as much as McCain, both of which are fast-talking two-faced liars that leave conservatism behind once they are elected to the office the envy!
